Behold the Autumn Nutshell - Minting an NTF

Have you ever minted an NFT? Of course you have... but not me, that is until today. But then I thought, why not? After all, I have started visiting NFT Marketplace on HiveList, thanks to @city-of-berlin 's Proof of Reshare NFTs. Also, there have been regular posts by @hivelist as well, so maybe that place is more active after all than what appearance may suggest. Anyway, since I always enjoy trying to be the change I want to see around me, I decided to engage in the marketplace.

An Inspiration Sparked Under Heavy Clouds

Okay, what image would I pick to mint my NFT? You may have seen the title pic of this post (which this time will have to suffice as the only one) in my post about my recent Sweden trip. My friend pointed it out to me, saying that it makes a great pic of November melancholy. The poor dinghy that you really don't feel like getting into, seeing how wet, cold, and gloomy everything looks. Yet, it is a wonderfully calm and desolate image of natural simplicity. In fact, couldn't you see it hanging on the wall somewhere? Or maybe even add some clever words as a caption, to send the viewer's mind in some direction? I think it has a lot of potential. I named it Autumn Nutshell.

Now You Have The Chance To Do That!

Yes, I know, you could just save this pic and print it out, modify it, and use it for your purposes, and I'd say: sure, go ahead, maybe for a mention, that would be nice. But this time I want to embrace all the peculiarities of the ownership of this image as a minted NFT. That means, you pay good money for 'Limited Reproduction Rights' which are full commercial rights for the work to be used or recreated in commerce, but does not give away the creator's license. So yeah, I took the pic (after my friend noticed it). Big deal! You can turn it into something valuable for you if you want. Still, it won't cost you more than a buck! Or to be exact, 1000 LIST tokens, just click right here.

How to Mint NFTs

The process is super self explanatory: On HiveList you can upload an image and turn it into an NFT people can buy. You need to get whitelisted first, which means you need to have 1000 LIST staked and 100 LIST liquid, which can be done instantly on HiveEngine. Then you need to create a thumbnail of your pic, upload both, and tick the agreements. By the way, you can do the same to video and audio files too. Then you can take your NFTs to the market (via your shopping cart basket - which was the part that took me the longest to figure out).

Why You Should Buy My Boat

First of all, because it's awesome! Secondly, because it comes at an incredible price. Just think about how much further you could be taking it! I know, there are some wheels rattling in the skulls of some of you out there...! Finally, it would be really great to see a bit more traffic on HiveList. Anyway, just anything more than nothing. In fact, now that I'm thinking, it would be probably HiveList themselves in whose interest it would be to buy my NFT, for all three reasons. But for me it's all the same... No matter who ends up buying my boat, I'll make sure to add some more of my pics.

Just like all the images I post whose source is not specified, this photo was taken by me, with my Asus Zenfone Max Plus. For all it's worth mentioning.

Edit:

Only two days later my first NFT was bought by @citiy-of-berlin. I am so happy that this first trial of minting an image as an NFT, putting it up for sale, and successfully closing it, has been so successful.

Your photo is really representing November melancholy and I will check tomorrow and buy it if it is still available. Great work! Hope this brings more people to hivelist. I also think about bringing some of my photos as NFTs to the market - in addition to my proof-of-reshare project. By the way only a few issues are left and the next (new) edition is already minted 😊

Nice! So I can celebrate this as a bit of success. Only a few days after minting my NFT there is someone interested in buying it. Thank you!

I bought it right away 🤑
You only minted 1 issue! So it is an absolute rarity - the very first work by @stortebeker ! Give me a notice if you have something new :-)

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! 😁
Of course, I only minted one issue. It was supposed to be a test, to see how it works. Now I am excited to put up other NFTs for sale. I don't know if they will be as amazing as this Autumn Nutshell, but I will try to make sure it's quality stuff.

What I'm wondering about now is this: What stops me from minting the same exact image once (or many times) again, and keep selling it ad infinitum? You got all the rights to the image now, so does this mean I have sold my own rights to it? In any case, I am going to add a mention of you in my first post I featured it.
