A black beer perfect to chill out on the terrace

Hello, Hivers and Beer lovers!

I spent the last days in Colombia walking around the city and without much desire to write, so I've been a bit quiet here in the last few days. I also arrived with a lot of things to do at home and I've had a lot of CBA as my friend @tengolotodo would say 😆 But it's time to get back on track, I have a lot I want to write about my days in Bogotá and for today, I'm going to tell you about another beer I tried on my trip. I already told you about a craft beer I tried at Tres Guerreros. Tasting craft beers in Bogota.

This time I will refer to one of the well-known brands there, not a craft beer, which is Club Colombia.

On a previous visit to Colombia, I had already tried some of the beers of this brand, but I had not tried their black beer.

One day, when I went out for lunch, it was the only option they had of Colombian beers on the menu of the place. I don't usually drink black beer but I ordered it, and to my surprise, I liked it a lot.

So at the first opportunity when I was in the convenience store near my lodging and I saw they had it, I bought one to drink in the afternoon on the terrace after one of my long walks.

Club Colombia beers are lager. And this one, despite being a dark beer, seemed a bit light. Maybe that's why I liked it;)

But what does the brand itself say about its beer?

Pale, Caramel and Roasted Malt
This combination of malts brings a black color to the beer with a slightly sweet and dry flavor, along with notes of coffee and chocolate.

And the pairing food that they recommend,

Best paired with smoked and roasted foods such as a roast, as well as sweet dishes and chocolate or coffee-based desserts.

I honestly don't like to combine beer with desserts, but they are the experts, hehe.

But it was a good beer to refresh me after a long walk.

That afternoon, I stayed out on the terrace enjoying my beer while answering some comments on Hive.

And I stayed there until it got dark, enjoying the nice weather in Bogota those days.

This is my entry to #BeerSaturday week 344. And now is my turn to invite you Super Ed @tengolotodo to write a post on a cheeky wee beer experience, and write it with at least 3 pictures.

Thank you for reading.

All images and writing are my own unless otherwise stated.

Good afternoon dear friend @coquicoin, how are you?
I'm not one to drink black beer, but I liked the ones I've tried, from what you said, this would be a beer that I might like to try, especially to combine with an exquisite grilled dish on a Sunday, or making over table accompanied by an exquisite chocolate and hazelnut ice cream
Thank you very much for sharing this tasting experience of this Colombian black beer.
Have a happy start to the week

That's quite surprising to see Saaz hops in a Colombian beer. Do you grow hops there or is it brewed from imported ones?

I don't know if they produce them in Colombia.

With this name, it would be weird if it was brewed elsewhere :)

I mean the Saaz hops, hehe. The beer is brewed in Colombia, of course:)

Wow, travel, a specialty beer, and that perfect spot by the terrace to just chill. I'd love weekends like this too. LOL! Mmmm now I'm curious about this beer. Wish it was that easy to buy and try international beers from where I am. Who knows? I'll be on the lookout for them. Thank you for sharing a feel good post. Happy new week ahead.

I like Guinness, but I don't usually like other stouts... Cool design of the can and the bottle. Always good a fresh beer after a long walk.
Enjoy your day.

While I rarely drink beer as of late, I do really appreciate dark beers and lagers, so that beer sounds and looks lovely indeed! Locally-produced craft beers are the best! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Nice beer, you know for many years doctors prescribed a dark stout for women here for the iron needed. I think to do with perimenopause and then menopause with the doctors not realising the good it did.

Are you home now Super Eli?

Really? Then I can drink a little black beer a day without guilt, hehe.

Are you home now Super Eli?

I got back a week ago and am trying to get back on track around here.
