Liam Gallagher and John Squire Drop New Collaborative Single: "Just Another Rainbow"

Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher and legendary Stone Roses guitarist John Squire have joined forces for a new song, "Just Another Rainbow." This collaboration marks the beginning of a new musical project between the two iconic Northerners, with more releases promised throughout the year. Give the track a listen below.

In a press release, Gallagher expressed his admiration for Squire, emphasizing his songwriting skills. "I think John’s a top songwriter. Everyone always bangs on about him as a guitarist, but he’s a top songwriter too, man, no two ways about it as far as I’m concerned," said Gallagher. He praised Squire's melodies and described the new songs as mind-blowing, even when played acoustically.

Squire shared his perspective on "Just Another Rainbow," interpreting it as a song about disappointment and the idea that you never get what you truly want. Despite this, he described it as "one of the most uplifting tracks we’ve made together, which is weird."

The collaboration emerged from three songs that Squire sent to Gallagher in 2022. The record was crafted at Squire’s studio in Macclesfield, followed by sessions in Los Angeles with producer and bassist Greg Kurstin and drummer Joey Waronker. While this release marks their first official single together, Squire had previously joined Gallagher on stage in 2022 to perform Oasis' "Champagne Supernova" at Knebworth Park.
