A Preparation for JS PROM Night Event and Capturing my cousin's Special Night.
JS Prom Night is one of the most anticipated events when we are in high school. Because you can dance with your father for the first time while you are still young and in the beginning of your being a maiden, you can also dance with your crush or first love, and you can experience being invited to dance with some men with a different love song.
When I was still a high school student, I also had JS PROM experience. In my second time JS prom experience, I was able to dance with my father, and I became Ms. Junior.
Well... I am shy about sharing these photos of mine. This is my third time prom, and our cocktail dress color is royal blue. If I remember it correctly, this photo was taken when the event was finished. I am with my prom dance partner here in this picture.
My fourth prom is in senior high school. Year 2018. At that time, we enjoyed our night because this would be our last. We dance and change partners during dance for all. I can also dance with my former best friend, slash, my first crush, and my first love. So this prom experience is the most memorable for me. I was with my ex in this picture, but my sister thought he was just a friend. Lol
Maybe y'all are wondering why I am sharing my JS Prom experience here. It was because I attended a JS PROM event at my former high school last Friday, April 12, and I remember my Prom experiences in the past.
But first, before I attend the event, I work. As you know, I am good at doing make-up. So, I look for customers for this coming event, and I thank God because I can have three customers on that day.
Actually, I was supposed to have 5 customers, but the 2 customers backed out because they found another make-up artist nearby their home. But I'm glad because I still have customers who stay. 10 days before the event, I also invite my gay friend to be my hair stylist, but sad to say, when the day comes, he has an urgent meeting to attend, so I don't have a choice but to be their hair and make-up stylist. I became busy from 12 to 3:30 pm on that day.
My first customer is Ms.Junior S.Y. 2023-2024. I didn't expect that they would hire me as her make-up artist because, usually, when these students have titles in prom, they hire a professional make-up artist. The second one is her cousin, who is a Grade 10 student, and the third one is my cousin's classmate and the girl with whom I also did the HMUA for their United Nations event.
It's just sad because I wasn't able to take pictures of my first and second customers. Because of the time. We are rushing our time because I didn't expect that they would be in the school's venue at 3:30 p.m. but I'm glad because I can take a picture of my third customer.
Look at her being pretty—her make-up suits her because of her morena skin. She likes a brown color of eyeshadow, but if I use the same color as her skin, I don't think that will look good. I use a red lipstick so that when she takes a picture at night, her lips will be visible.
I was supposed to rest myself because I was tired of doing their makeup for hours. But my aunt sent me a DM. She needs a photographer for her daughter, who is their first princess in their prom. So, even if I am tired, I don't have a choice but to attend their JS PROM.
I am not her make-up artist because her mom didn't want to. Lol, you know, you're a Filipino if your family doesn't support you in the things that you would like to do. But they are good at requesting this and that.
I was supposed to not attend this event, but it's also a good thing that I attended to take a picture of my customer, who is her classmate.
Look at how beautiful she is. I really admire her beauty because of her natural Morena skin.
While watching the event, my former classmate and a high school friend of mine saw me, and we had a chitchat while watching the event. Then, there is this part of the event where they dance budots and party. We are both like "Sana All-ing" or Hope All because we didn't experience that when we were in high school because of our KJ teacher before. I remember that in the middle of dancing on the dance floor with others, she requested the music stop and told everyone that this kind of dance was not allowed during this kind of event. Lol
I really admire the beauty of these ladies. I'm really thankful because the makeup is now improving because, when we were in high school, our make-up looked so very messy. I mean, the gays in the parlors are making our foundation unsuitable for our skin type, and as a result, when the camera lights up at night, our faces are so white.
Am I still dreaming? My younger cousins are young women and young men now. Meanwhile, here I am being an oldie, and my legs and back are hurting.
The coronation night has begun, and my feet are hurting already because I am standing and taking pictures. As outsiders, we don't have any chairs.
And standing while watching for hours is making me uncomfortable. I am not wearing heels or shoes. I'm just wearing a slipper sandal, but still, it's hurting my feet because of walking back and forth and standing.
My younger cousins both won the First Prince and Princess titles on coronation night. My cousin likes to be crowned Queen, but sadly, she didn't win and just got the First Princess title at their prom. Her mother and our Tita are supportive. Sana, all right? When I was Ms. Junior, my mom was the only one who made money just so I could win even a small title. They didn't even make any efforts, haha. Meanwhile, my sister became a second princess during her high school days, just like my younger cousin; they have favoritism. Anyway, it was just the same with my male younger cousin; his parents wanted him to become a king, but he didn't win.
Well, I am not jealous because I am a graduate now and it's happened in the past.
I really like that the generation is changing now. I mean, there's a lot of improvement in our school. They can now afford to design this event to be fancy. Unlike when we were in high school, our venue was just narrow, and the design of the stage was just simple.
Well, I'm still happy for my younger cousins because they experience this kind of treatment from our family. They can be crowned and awarded in this kind of event.
How I wish I was still a student like them. Attending this kind of event is really sad to remember that we've graduated now. This kind of event reminded us that we are not that young anymore, and in every crown, it's passing on to the next generation.
Hah! I think this is all for today, as I feel a little bit emotional and dramatic because I missed being a high school student. I miss being younger because I have back pain right now, and it's easy to feel tired!

All I can say is... SANA ALL!!
Not all schools are lucky to try proms and all, and like, you get to have one every year? LUCKY! I've been to junior high, got none (except for the dance for PE). Went to senior high that literally offers that, but COVID-19 came. And now I'm in college, with stuffs like that no longer a thing, so yeah.
And if it does, too late, I'm no longer interested. TwT
Omg! Yes! I remembered during the pandemic that my younger cousins didn't complete their 4xJS prom because of COVID too. But, I think, the college offers a ball-night event. 😭 I don't know what it's called.
Depends on college (and sometimes, even branches). Because I swear that while my school has some night party every event, please, it's night. My family's not gonna allow me!
Never ako naka attend ng prom. Haha. Kaya nung kinasal ako, sabi ko yun na lang ang way para magmaganda ako kaya tinodo ko na yung muk up. Haha.
Galing galing mo mag make up. Lagyan mo ko ng mga ganyang kulay kulay pag nagkita tayo ha. Hehw
Halla? Hindi ba uso dati yung mga ganito nung mga kapahunan ng HS life mo ate rome?
If di madami madadala ko ate rome. Magdadala ako ng mga make up para party party tayo sa event! 💅 (tapos shy pala ako🤣😭)
