Fundraising Post | Fixing a Basketball Ring

avatar

Without a doubt, Filipinos do love basketball. Most people love to play this game, whether children, teens, or adults. This is where they gather and have fun with their friends or neighbors. Though people love this game, not all of them show their support, especially in terms of money. Not ignoring the fact that government officials should provide for the needs of this game. Some government officials in a specific small village don't care if there is a court or not where the players can play.

I grew up in a small village in the same region where I'm currently living that fully supports the game of basketball. We have a well-constructed basketball court and a well-fixed basketball ring. That's why a player like me who loves this game so much to play and to watch, saddened me seeing the basketball ring like this.

Morning and afternoon where the players gather to play basketball. I'm not an outside person so I have no idea what's going on outside. Then one time, when I took my time and to enjoy the feeling of being outside. I intentionally visited the court hoping to shoot a couple of shots in the ring together with the other players.

The broken basketball board and barely hanging basketball court which is dangerous might fall welcomed me. It was so sad to see this kind of basketball ring. You don't know if the ball will bounce from the board or just pass through. As you can see, only a small portion of a plywood is tied up above the ring. If you're a fan of basketball you will learn how important the board of a basketball ring is. I suddenly remembered that one of the teenagers asked me to give them plastic ties or straws. I just found out that this is where they used it.

When I held the ball, it was so bad. I could barely feel a spike on that ball. I wondered if it bounced well when you dribbled it. Then it came to my thoughts that tomorrow morning I will for sure buy a ball since acquiring one is not impossible. I could afford at least 4 dollars to buy a new ball and lend it to everyone. However, that's not the reason why I decided to write a fundraising post. I was aiming to have a new basketball ring or if not, at least fix the board on it. The ring is still good, it just needs some tightening. Not like the board that was broken that needs to be replaced.

If I could have support from the hivers I will put a #hive sign on the board. Of course, it's just a way of expressing gratitude. It's not some sugar-coated act whatsoever, a good act should be answered with appreciation too. I'm hoping to make it happen soon since the summer activities are near, especially the basketball game.

This is not for me so I'm confident to ask for support from the generous hivers on hive. Please let us help the players play the game they'd love to play, especially the young ones.

Filipinos do love basketball.

Not me. LOL. But yeah, I'd rather watch basketball than soccer. 😅

You could have also used the @sports tag to attract Sportstalksocial community.

I have a suggestion, if you manage to get the support from Hiveans, after that may be you could get the basketball players in your area to post articles about their sports activities on https://sportstalksocial.com.

That way, they could while spending time on a useful activity like basketball, get to write about their experiences playing the game and also get support of the sports community in Sportstalksocial.

Yes, because if no one would express the concern nothing would happen.

That's a poor basketball ring. Maybe you could reach out to sanguniang kabataan or barangay coucil and ask for assistance , im sure they have funds for that.

From what I heard, not a single project the SK did in this brgy. They don't even have a basketball activity every year during summer. That's how corrupt this brgy is.
