Late Afternoon at the beach - PhotoFeed Contest - Black & White Photography Round 115

Peace,

What a beautiful sunny day!

How are you doing?

I hope the weather is treating you very well in the area you are living.
My submission in the contest new edition is a series of black and white photos from the beach after the sun set.

Photo feed challenge of the week looks so interesting, I will have a lot of fun interacting with some publication and also if it comes to the final selection to be part of the authors lists who made the exceptional entry in this edition.

It was a long day doing some business on the Ocean Side of the city. I went to the beach after eight hours of meetings. It was the only place I could distress and take in fresh air.

--

The sun was already low in the sky. Light was diminishing in intensity at a rapid pace. I reach the water waves and discovered that the place was not so empty despite the dark conquering the place over the light.

--

On my way to the water and waves, I found this coconut tree inverted in the sand. It looks first like a weird shape of tree, then I got closer and realized that I have seen this similar disposition a few time in the past while I was walking at the beach.

You might wonder why would someone pull out of the ground a big coconut tree and then cut all the roots and branches before planting it back in the sand at the beach, leaving the rootless part above ground.

This question stayed in my mind for a long time, so I asked people who came to the beach, and they validated one of my theory that it was used by the department in charge of land management to mark area on a large scale like a pin on a map.

--

I was not entirely convinced about this possibility because I knew that there were other means to reference location on open vast area that showed proof of durability in the mosts harsh environment.

The best explanation came from a group of friends on chat. They saw the photos and gave me the perfect reason why I saw these trees in this similar position at different place along the beach.

The fishermen build and install these trees to serve as a solid block to hold the two miles long fish net cable after being deployed in the ocean.

It was nice to finally close this small mystery that brought back memories of my visits at the beach and help me engage with my friends on a random subject.

Thank you for considering the photos in the black and white shoot contest.

Beautiful ocean side pictures you’ve shared here. I love sea side views, it has a calming effect. The weather over here has been dull. It rained almost all through yesterday and today still retains that gloomy feel from yesterday

Lovely shots of a beach.
Are there boats around there to transport port people or just cruise them for fun? Is there any recreation place there?
It seems the beach is not far from your house.

The soccer players are the most attractive activities at the beach. However, others attractions are coming
Only fishermen boats can be seen on the beach, but larger boat are often offshore waiting to enter the harbor not far from the spot I took these photos.
Peace
