"My friend Julio" / _{"Mi amigo Julio"}

Meeting Julio in the street is always synonymous with a cheerful chat and a couple of good photos... Julio is a relatively young man, perhaps a little over 30 years old. In fact, I remember seeing him playing with my eldest son in the streets of the village.

Encontrar a Julio en la calle es siempre sinónimo de una charla alegre y de un para de buenas fotos... Julio es alguien relativamente joven, quizás está un poco más allá de los 30 años. De hecho, recuerdo haberlo visto jugar alguna vez con mi hijo mayor en las calles del pueblo.

I don't really know how or when it happened, but what is certain is that Julio started to behave a bit strangely and began to "live in his own world"... However, I don't dare to say that he is crazy or anything like that, because many times his conversations are absolutely coherent and he even has a small kiosk where he sells spices and he is doing very well... But suddenly he can take a garlic out of his pocket and talk to it!.... But... I often do similar things myself!.... So (as I see it) Julio is just someone "eccentric".

No sé muy bien ni como ni cuando sucedió, pero lo cierto es que Julio comenzó a comportarse un poco extraño y comenzó a "vivir en su propio mundo"... Sin embargo, no me atrevo a decir que esté loco ni nada por el estilo, pues muchas veces sus conversaciones son absolutamente coherentes e incluso tiene un pequeño kiosco en donde vende especias y le va muy bien... ¡Pero repentinamente puede sacar un ajo de su bolsillo y hablar con este!... Pero... ¡Yo también suelo hacer cosas similares!... Así que (según mi parecer) Julio es simplemente alguien "excéntrico".

"Cesar's old Power Wagon" / _{La vieja Power Wagon de César}

It is a pity that this old and classic vehicle is behind these bars, as I would like to take some pictures of it in a more free way. But be that as it may, I took the opportunity and managed to get this image full of visual drama. When I was a kid, this huge and powerful truck rolled through the streets of the village frequently. Cesar, its owner, lived in the mountains and would come to town driving this Power Wagon loaded with whatever he planted on his land. Over the years Cesar sold his land and also his old truck.

Es una lástima que este viejo y clásico vehículo se encuentre tras esas rejas, pues me gustaría hacer algunas fotos de este de manera más libre. Pero sea como sea, aproveché la ocasión y logré esta imagen cargada de drama visual. Cuando yo era un niño, este camión enorme y poderoso rodaba por las calles del pueblo con frecuencia. Cesar, su dueño, vivía en las montañas y venía al pueblo conduciendo esta Power Wagon cargado de lo que sembraba en sus tierras. Con el paso de los años César vendió sus tierras y también su viejo camión.

"Two neighbours talking" / _{"Dos vecinos conversando"}

This photograph really "made my day"... Don't you think it's lovely.... It is of two small children "talking" very seriously about the characteristics of a toy held in the hand of one of them.

Esta fotografía en realidad "me hizo el día"... ¿No les parece encantadora?... Se trata de dos niños pequeños "conversando" muy seriamente sobre las características de un juguete sostenido en la mano de uno de ellos.

I was actually watching them from about 50 metres away and had taken this photo of them, but as I got closer they sat on that old tyre and gave me this lovely scene.... Gee, I love street photography even more when it gives me these magical moments!

En realidad los estuve observando desde unos 50 metros de distancia y les había hecho esta foto, pero al acercarme ellos se sentaron sobre esa vieja llanta y me regalaron esa encantadora escena... ¡Caray, amo la más aún la fotografía callejera cuando me regala estos momentos mágicos!.

"Bad Fleas" and "The Smiley"/ _{"Malas pulgas" y "El Sonrisas"}

The one in the photo above is "Bad Fleas"... He's a bad-tempered fucker whose speciality is to growl between his teeth when I pass by his street... But I love him... I think he's a lovely little dog! 😍

Ese de la foto de arriba es "Malas Pulgas"... Es un condenado mal humorado cuya especialidad es gruñir entre dientes cuando paso por su calle... ¡Pero lo amo!... ¡Me parece un perrito encantador! 😍

And this one is "The Smiley" whose main way of spending his time seems to be "sleeping lying in the middle of the street"... But he's a lovely little dog and always seems to be in good spirits! Both he and "Bad Fleas" have homes, but both love to stay in the street in front of their houses.

Y este otro es "El Sonrisas" cuya principal forma de pasar el tiempo parece ser "dormir tirado en el centro de la calle"... ¡Pero es un perrito encantador y siempre parece estar de buen carácter!. Tanto él como "Malas Pulgas" tienen hogar, pero ambos disfrutan estar en la calle del frente de sus casas.

I started taking pictures of dogs in the streets as a strategy to make people pay less attention to me and then I could take more natural pictures of them. However, as time went by, I also became fond of taking photos of dogs seriously (and cats too) and so they have become an important part of my work as a street photographer.

Comencé a hacer fotos de perros en las calles como una estrategia para que las personas me prestaran menos atención y entonces poder hacerles fotos más naturales. Sin embargo, con el paso del tiempo me aficioné también a hacer fotos de los perros seriamente (y también de gatos) y entonces ellos se han convertido en parte importante de mi trabajo como fotógrafo callejero.
