Humpday is the perfect day to go out for a walk with the camera you always have on you! That's what you get for the Wednesday Walk challenge championed by our friend @tattoodjay and the Make me Smile Collaboration challenge lead by @elizacheng.

This Weds, I was calling for snow and mother nature answered.

Good Morning!

This is the view from my curation chair this morning. The first snow is always a big of a shock after six months of none. If I enjoy it, I bet followers in places where it never snows might as well.

Only a couple manageable inches when it is time to start the day and get the people where they need to be. Coming down nicely though and it will take no time to pile up the 6 inches they are calling for today.

If you are not in a hurry and don't have far to go, not a bad morning for a little in-town drive. Branches and street signs holding their snow.

the snowman family on the far right corner showed up a week ago and are now in their native habitat. The plows have been on some roads and a little 4-wheel drive snow tires drifting is in order.

The day has been more drive and hibernate than walk so I better get rolling.

Walk Time

I wonder if the little guy remembers snow from last winter or whether it is all new. Either way, he is greeted at the gate by an equally excited pooch and they flounce tirelessly through the snow.

They wrestle right on through the gate to take it to the trails in the woods. Between the adrenaline and numbing cold of the snow, he doesn't even seem to notice his sore foot.



Every time I visit the park, I take a picture from this spot. I need a thaw and a little frost followed by another good snowing to properly complete the 4 season animated gif I will melt them into.




There are splashes of colour on the white blanket that covers everything today. These high bush cranberries wear a puffy white hat and will probably be food for the birds who stay for the winter.

Nice to see others out taking advantage of the fresh snow with their 4-legged friends. Such a joyous place with fresh air, plenty of space and likeminded people who are often chatty. I can think of worse places to be.

The battle is not yet over. It has simply levelled up to 3 energetic pups. Both of these have poodle in them and they apparently enjoy the snow and wrestling as much as my boy. The more they frolic, the more tired and peaceful he is later on that night. Definitely worth the time investment.

By the time we are on our way, he is covered with snow and doesn't even seem to notice. Good thing too as winter lasts a few months and enjoying the cold will make for some pretty fun days this winter.

On the way back home, he flops on his seat cover and picks all of the snowballs from his fur. The sun has gone down on a nice snowy Wednesday that brought a few smiles.
