A pleasure to write this post for the Contest about the use of vintage technology which we have seen in several movies but especially in particular I want to talk about the movie Jumangi but the one from 1995 because currently after 2000 there have been other adaptations of it, but this in particular is where we can appreciate this type of technology.

Let's start first remembering that this movie stars one of the best actors for me who was Robin Williams which embodies a boy who decides to play a game called Jumangi with his dear friend, which seemed normal, without knowing that this game had a kind of magic that would take him to a jungle for a long time and would return to the present time at the time that other children opened the game and continue where he had left off, of course this happens 26 years after he played the first time, his friend thought she was crazy but only to return to the old house and see the game realizes that everything really happened and had to follow the game.

Comenzamos primero recordando que esta película está protagonizada por uno de los mejores actores para mí que fue Robín Williams el cual personifica a un niño que decide jugar un juego llamado Jumangi con su querida amiga, lo cual parecía normal, sin saber que este juego tenía una especia de magia que lo llevaría a una selva por mucho tiempo y regresaría a la época actual en el momento de que otros niños abrieran el juego y continuaran donde él había quedado, claro esto ocurre 26 años después de que jugo la primera vez, su amiga creía estar loca pero solo al regresar a la antigua casa y ver el juego se da cuenta de que todo paso realmente y tenía que seguir el juego.

Este juego se basa en experiencias temibles con animales de la selva, a medida que avanza los peligros se vuelven más potentes y difícil de predecir, Alán (Robín Williams) intenta entender las circunstancias y a pesar de tener un cuerpo ya de hombre su mentalidad sigue siendo de un niño y tiene miedo a lo que se le avecina, sin embargo con ayuda de los niños que conoce y su amiga que no creía volverlo a ver deciden avanzar y dejar ese juego finalizado, cada uno debía respetar el turno del otro ya que si saltaban o hacían trampa tenían que asumir las consecuencias, en parte era un juego para tener valor y afianzar las fuerzas para continuar, aunque en el momento Alan no lo entendía así comprendió que la única manera de vencer y salir de ahí era asumir sus miedos y superarlos.

Ahora bien, recalcando podemos apreciar ciertos aparatos con tecnología vintage como celulares los tipos grandes con antena satelital, las computadores de la época que eran más robustas y menos sofisticas que las actuales se puede apreciar en ciertos momentos de la película lo cual se aplica a la época y se entiende el uso de la misma, es una película que en particular a pesar de estar entrelazada a lo antiguo también usan tecnología que se va acercando a lo que se tiene hoy día pero permaneciendo a la época, me gusto el tema y la habilidad para trasmitir lo que sentían con el juego de Jumangi.
