Power Up Day for HIVE and Hive-engine Tokens - A Challenge to Grow your Influence on the Hive blockchain/communities

Hive Power Up Day (HivePUD)

Thanks to @hivebuzz for the Hive Power Up Day reminder. Hive Power Up Day (HivePUD) is a challenge that takes place on Hive-verse on the first day of every month to encourage Hive users to Power up at least 10 HIVE on their account.

Powering up HIVE increases the user's influence on the Hive for governance and rewards distribution purposes. On governance, your Hive Power determines the support you give to your favourite witness and determines the witness rank for code decisions.

Your Hive Power also determines how much you give to a post you upvote. The higher your Hive Power (HP) the more Hive you can distribute. Holding HP also helps a user to vote for his favourite proposal funding.

The next HivePUD will occur in a few days, on June 1, 2022. It is thus important that Hive users begin to rack their liquid HIVE to participate in the Power up campaign. There are lots of rewards for participants. Also, @Arcange gives out Badges to hivers who participate in HIVEPUD and those badges can be seen here. We are hopeful that those badges could become NFTs in the future.

The Hive Power Up Day is a good opportunity to have fun while strengthening powering up your account. HiveBuzz allows you to collect Power-bee badges if you participate in the Hive Power Up Day and you may win Hive Power delegation from the other sponsors of this initiative. The more HIVE you power-up on Power Up Day, the bigger your power-bee.

The Emergence of Hive-engine PUD

HivePUD has been replicated at the community levels and a lot of Hive tribes also encourage their users who power-up certain quantities of Hive-engine tokens on the first Day of each month.

In a recent development, @Uyobong called for newlions to participate in LeoPUD (Leo Power Up Day) on June 1, with upvote rewards. It is a welcome development that can better the economies of all Hive-engine tokens and their tribes.

It would be interesting to see similar challenges unfold in other hive tribes and communities.
