Good morning, Good afternoon, Good evening, Cubs πŸ’•. Depends on when you see this πŸ₯°.
It's my first time participating in this contest, and I hope I finish strong πŸ₯².
Anyway, today, I will be doing a review of the anime with a child as a protagonist, and my first pick is "Kotaro Lives Alone."

Kotaro Lives Alone is an wonderful choice if you're looking for a light-hearted anime with depth πŸ˜ŒπŸ’•.

"ABOUT THE SHOW"
Protagonist: Kotaro Sato (4 years old)
Genre- Slice of Life, Comedy, Drama
Episodes- 10

REVIEW PROPER; Kotaro Lives Alone- A Surprisingly Heartfelt Treasure πŸ₯Ήβœ¨**
Kotaro Lives Alone (2022) is a poignant anime series. With a touch of humor and deep emotional storytelling, it is a real classic, especially for a writer like me. Usually, I'm into Rom-coms, Drama, musicals, and sometimes thrillers. But ever since I saw this anime, I'm beginning to think that maybe I'm now into the Slice of Life genre. πŸ˜…πŸ« .

I don't know, but watching Kotaro Lives Alone feels like being quietly handed a soft, warm blanket - only to realize it's covering a series of emotional bruises. A four-year-old who speaks like a samurai and lives completely alone. Sounds pretty amusing, right? It is until it's not. From the name, people might think that it's like a quirky anime about a 4-year-old living alone, but it is more than just that, the genius of this show is a balance of humor, innocence, abandonment, resilience and trauma. Every episode gives you a glimpse into Kotaro's past, revealing scars far deeper than any child should bear. But the show never exploits his pain. Instead, it treats him and the viewer with compassion and respect. Like, I literally laughed and cried throughout the episodes πŸ₯²πŸ˜πŸ˜‚.

I liked how the series never screamed his trauma; it whispered it. I don't know whether it was in the way he hoarded his tissues (episode 5) because they reminded him of kindness or how he watched cartoons to feel less lonely. It was honestly so cute how he spoke like his favorite cartoon character, Tonosaman. It reminded me of my cousin, who always spoke like those PJ mask characters from the Disney Junior movie channel.
The truth was that every little habit told a bigger story.

Let's talk about the characters;

Kotaro - he was a unique protagonist - self-reliant, polite, and oddly mature, especially for his age. Like I have a pupil in my school who is four years old, and he is surprisingly smart for his age πŸ˜‚πŸ’•. He knew more than I did when I was his age. He actually reminds me of Kotaro, I usually call him Kotaro 2.0 sometimes πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

But the truth was Kotaro's maturity wasn't cute - it was a survival mechanism.
The supporting characters, especially Karino, the lazy Manga artist next become a makeshift family, offering Kotaro the kind of love and stability he longed for. Their relationship showed that family isn't about fixing everything but about showing up, quietly and consistently. It wasn't forced or melodramatic. It was just authentic and beautiful.
The series made me reflect on the people around me and how they've shaped my life. You know, the ones we lean on when things get hard.

In just ten episodes, the series portrayed the healing power of human connection. It didn't ask for pity-it rather earned empathy. It celebrated the quiet, and everyday kindness of neighbors who become something like a family.

In conclusion, I'd say that this series is not flashy, nor is it loud. But honest, authentic, and a rare gem.
This isn't just a story about a boy living alone. It's about surviving and slowly, gently starting to live again.
If you haven't already seen this, I'll recommend πŸ₯Ήβ€οΈ.
*Rating: 9.5/10
Ty (Thank you) so much to the producers, I even read the Manga 😩❀️ after seeing the series.
Ty so much to you all who made it to this part of my review πŸ’•βœ¨.
Bye, stay safe and see you in the next one πŸ₯ΉπŸ₯°β€οΈ.
