Show Me A Photo Contest Round 142 : Egret with long legs

Hello feathered friends lovers….
My post to participate in Show Me A Photo Contest round 142 with Admin @nelinoeva. The theme for this round is Long-Legged Birds. There are not many types of long-legged birds in my area, I only saw egrets (Egretta garzetta). They were seen gathered on tree branches. These trees are located on top of artificial columns in the Cemara housing complex, Medan city. The presence of the egret attracts local tourists to visit this place. In the morning and evening, many local residents are in the Cemara housing complex to enjoy the view of the artificial pond and the egrets.

At first I thought that this egret was the same as the white stork, because in my area (Binjai city), local people call the egret the white stork. Even though egrets are not white storks, from some of the literature I have read, differences in feather color patterns can be used as a basis for differentiating between egrets and white storks. In general, egrets have plain white feathers, while storks have more varied feather patterns, such as black patterns. They both have long beaks and long legs. When the egret was on a tree branch, I saw that its long legs looked thin, "Will they be okay in the tree?"

I saw several baby egrets in their nests, waiting for their parents to come and bring them food. The color of their feathers is pure white and seems to have a soft texture.

When I was observing baby birds in their nest, I saw a baby bird on a branch of a tree, its body looked soaked, it looked shivering, fortunately the sun was shining brightly and it would warm the baby bird which was cold.

Apart from being around the artificial fish pond, I also saw egrets in the sugar cane plantation area. The egrets would gather in the morning and afternoon, it seemed like they used the sugar cane plantation as a place to find food.

When I go to work in the morning, I often see flocks of egrets gathered in the sugar cane plantations, and also during the day, they still gather in the sugar cane plantations.

We are living near ponds so I often see a lot of these types of birds as well. They also sometimes stand on the back of animals like cows and carabaos and thinking that they are peaking their flea’s as well if I’m not mistaken.

yes they are often seen side by side with animals such as buffalo and cows, this is an example of mutually beneficial symbiosis between egrets and cows
