Unforgettable Experience: An Unexpected Death Of My Friend.

The pain that pierced my heart, I begged God to revise it if possible. I was down for more than a week without talking to anyone, but at the end, it was what it is: Wilfred is gone forever.

An unexpected death comes in different ways: an accident, unanticipated health issues, suicide or overdose, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Wilfred was my course mate when I was in university. He happened to be the most brilliant student in class then. At first we were not close, but something brought us so close that we were just like brother and sister.

There is this course that gave me serious issues in school "Econometrics " I do create time for this particular course Every time to read and solve Mathematics involved in it but in the end I will still land in nothing.

I decided to seek help from Wilfred because he is a guru in all the courses. Without much begging, he accepted and fixed a time for us to meet in night class. He took it upon himself that he would do anything provided I learned econometrics and even other subjects.

We kept going to night class, and before you know it, I became an expert in all econometric analysis and other subjects.

We became so close that we can share our problems with each other, both family problems and other things.

An unforgettable day came. It was around 12am, but sleep wasn't coming. I decided to check my Facebook and found out that Wilfred was online too. I asked him why he never sleeps, and his reason was that he was restless. He told me that he was in his uncle's place to spend the weekend and come back on Sunday. I said, No problem." We chatted for some minutes, and I slept off.

The following day, I opened my Facebook, and what I saw shattered me into pieces. It was Wilfred's pictures all over social media with the inscription "Rest In Peace." It was unbelievable. I called him several times, but no one picked up. I felt a terrible pain in my heart. I begged God to reverse it, but it wasn't possible.

I was told that Wilfred came out around 5am to urinate and slumped and died. It was a terrible death, an unexpected one. Life is full of uncertainty.

It has been 9 years, but each time I remember him, I always feel that unbearable pain. I think of the level he would have been in the world now with all his brilliant Chaiii.

Vanity upon vanity, all is vanity.

This is my entry to the Hive Reachout weekly prompts 45.

Thanks for stopping by.

It is hard to accept the death of those we love and when they are young and healthy it is even harder to overcome. As you say, at any moment we can be living our last moments and that is why we must take advantage of every moment to live it with intensity. This writing is a beautiful tribute to remember your friend.
