Hiving my day

This post is my submission for the Hive Learner weekly featured contest Week 84, Edition 01

For some months now, I have been staying at home due to the end of the session break. I ought to have resumed school at the beginning of the month, but the holiday was extended to the end of the month. I used most of the days during the holiday unwinding from the academic stress; watching movies, reading books, and engaging on social media, until recently, when I decided to begin using my time productively. I've spent most of my days of my holidays indoors, and yesterday was no exception. One of the things reckoned to do instead of wasting my time was to go back to writing and reactivating my Hive account.

One of the unique things I did in the last 24 hours of writing this article was to be active on Hive. Throughout yesterday, apart from the early hours of the day when I went to Inleo to make some threads in fulfillment of the Zealy contest, I was so busy that I wasn't able to engage or log in to Hive.

I got a message from a friend who told me that I was among those selected by @leogrowth in the article Zealy October Prize Pool Distribution. This prompted me to log in to Hive after being away since morning. I logged in, and I saw that I was selected to be among those who will be rewarded with a 2.5k Leo delegation for completing the Zealy contest task of doing a 150 Leo power-up. Actually, this was my first time participating in LPUD (Leo Power Up Day), and I was really excited that I was among the random participants chosen for the pool distribution.

After checking out the growth post, I decided to remain active on the platform and clear all the backlogs of notifications. (I'm sure you know how the notification builds up when you fail to log in for more than 12 hours.) After clearing the notifications, I decided to engage in some of my friends' posts and those of other people that I'm following. In fact, I usually add interesting authors and friends as favorites, so that whenever they get to publish an article, I receive a notification about it. After commenting and upvoting, I planned on writing an article.

I had to look for a contest in one of the communities I was in, and I saw there was a contest in the Ink Well community to write a fiction short story that was going to expire about six hours later. Writing fiction for me is a bit difficult, and that's why I'm trying my best to practice and improve my fiction writing skills. I began racking my brain thinking of a story concept to write, and soon I began typing even though I hadn't figured out the entire story outline. I got to 100 words, and guess what happened?

I fell asleep while typing, and when I woke some thirty minutes later, I realized that I couldn't write the story to completion, and the work I had done throughout the day was taking a toll on me, and I really needed to sleep. So I shut down my laptop and went to sleep. That was how I ended up not writing any articles yesterday.

Thank you for reading!

Hahaha...there are days one won´t feel like writing or ideas won´t just come especially when you are too tired. Congratulations on winning that Leo delegation and you should utilize it well by upvoting content that has the leo tag. Perhaps visiting the community will help.
