Don't Bother Me While I'm Cooking
Talking about emotions in a person, both positive and negative emotions, is certainly a very interesting and complex thing. I'm one of those people who likes to discuss themes about human personality, especially about emotions.
Luckily, this week, Weekend Experience opens a theme that is in line with my concert. So I'm going to talk a little bit more about what are the things that make me angry and upset?
I don't like being helped when I'm cooking.
Nah, do you find anything strange here? How can someone get angry when being helped? Yeasss... and that person is me. Believe it or not, since my daily job is cooking for a number of menus at my mum's stall, I'm the type of person who doesn't like to be helped when I'm cooking. The reason is also very, very simple: it could ruin what I've started!
Makes sense, right?
Let me give you a more comprehensive picture of this situation.
Let's say I'm cooking a menu, and only I know the order, as well as what spices I've added and haven't added. Then, suddenly another crew comes in, pretentiously taking over what we have been cooking, you can suddenly forget what you have done and what you have not. Even worse, you can lose focus on the other things you should be doing with your kitchen and equipment. And honestly, this can really make me angry and resentful.
So, I have an unspoken rule about the kitchen. Let me do the cooking if that's my job and please, don't disturb me!
Simple, right?
There's something else. Imagine if the kitchen utensils that you're using, suddenly change hands or worse move to a place where you don't know where the exact location is.
The fire in the stove is still burning, your cooking needs stirring and the utensils are gone! Argh... seriously, I really hate this situation. Now it makes sense why the chefs don't want to be disturbed either. Even if there's a system, he wants to have a trained assistant by his side. Because if not, the consequences can be very fatal.
Pfuuuhh... even just saying this, I'm so angry and upset. I'm sorry.
But, thank you for throwing a topic that can also be used to vent my frustration. Ha ha ha
See you in the next post.
Hi, I am the child of the universe, I like to read books with various genres. I was born in the city of batik but can't draw batik yet. I want to be a novelist, but my works are only short poems that are included in anthology books.

Hahahaha, I understand you perfectly, I don't work cooking, and in fact I don't really like cooking at home, but beyond the seasoning and the order to make the dish, I think no one should put their hands in that matter if they haven't asked for help, it bothers me too much and although I have learned to control my reactions before the intruders in the kitchen, nobody comes near me while I cook, and possibly it will end up happening to you too 😅 It is an excellent post, and entertaining, thanks for sharing.

Hahaha I totally get this - kitchen chaos is no joke! It's like you got your rhythm, your plan, your secret spice sequence.... and then someone swoops in thinking they're helping and boom - everything's out of sync. I felt your frustration through the screen (and laughed a little too because, yep, relatable).
Loved how real and passionate this post was.
Although it doesn't get to the point of being very angry, it bothers me that when I'm cooking they look at what I'm doing. My wife avoids doing it because she knows I don't like it.
It is true that, every cook has his recipe and you have to respect what he does because it is his personal touch that is at stake.
Happy weekend.
Cheers and best regards.
