I am really excited to have the first working prototype up and running for my new hydroponic tower product line I am starting for use not only here on the homestead farm in the greenhouse, or heck even here in the house, buy I will be making and offering these items for sale under my new business! The plan is to get the first models fully finished up and ready for photos. There will be the standard that is pictured here, and a deluxe model that will have additional spacers and plant rings to help stablize plants like strawberries or tomatoes.

I am offering a full on kit, so I am having to source water pumps, ph kits, grow medium, and smart plugs for timing the pump flow to add into the bundle. I believe that I have all that in order at this point, so it's time to really get to some business! I am excited for my new printer to come this week and hopefully be able to get faster prints with better quality than with the ones I am working with now.

I am considering a Kickstarter campaign to help me grow the farm quickly and get enough materials and accessories to really get this thing off the ground! If you have any other good fundraising ideas or sites that you think I could get some crowdfunding help from, let me know. I am considering some crypto options as well. But for now, I plan on putting them up on eBay and Etsy, plus building my own store front and promoting online as well as get out to some local farmer's markets and getting a booth set up. This is pretty much where all my crypto is going at the moment, haha. Feeding people is key and if I can provide the tools needed to grow healthy food at home, then I feel like I am contributing to a better society while building a sustainable and scalable business.

I have been thinking of some crypto based ideas to raise funds. Maybe a Hive Engine token or NFT? Or figuring out some kind of NFT staking kind of game that I can build on a variety or multiple EVM chains like BSC, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, etc which would reach a wider audience. The idea is having NFTs to represent a printer, or a roll of plastic or something, and either have a staking mechanism, or airdrops of a DAO token that would payout some profits from the sales of the products. Something like that. If you have any fundraising ideas, let me know in the comments!

Until next time...

Be cool, be real, and always abide!

Yeah I can see how it would take revisions. But that's the sweetest part. I need to learn how to model and create in a 3d printer. I've done subtractive manufacturing however haven't done additive.

Can you make them smaller.. like room for 2 cannabis plants only?

It's certainly possible. I can do modules that have 2, 3, 4, or 5 plants per section. The 3 is just balanced out nicely, especially at this scale, plus it is a nice happy medium when it comes to material and cost.

That’s a fantastic idea. Your enthusiasm for your product is jumping off the page, and I reckon rightly so - you’ve got something really valuable right there.

I’m not much for business, but as far as fundraising goes, can you patent the designs and then sell the files so people who buy them can print their own? I’m not sure how this sort of thing works, so it may not even be an option.

Anyway. Awesome. Love it!

It was derived from all open source creative commons files so I could technically resell the file. I just did my own custom modifications and scaling so I could sell them on my site, but people could go out and get the originals for free, which in the description somewhere I would have to give credit to the original designer... BUT... that would also kill my possible profits, lol. Although I have thought about this and I could bundle all of my slicer files with the profiles and even sell the filament I use, maybe get into printer and filament dealing. I don't know. There are a ton of avenues. I have really been thinking of some kind of NFT based thing.

With the jagged edges, don't you have to sand it down a bit?

Yeah, it hasn’t been finished as far as that part is concerned. I was just trying to see how everything fit together and worked. There is a bit of finishing work to do.
