Results: The Anime Realm Contest #1 - My Favorite Anime

It took more time than expected to sift through the submissions. Initially, there was only 5 Hive for the prize pool for 1 winner but we added a 2nd and 3rd place with 3 and 2 Hive prize, respectively.

The Winners:

First Place: Action Thriller ~ ATTACK ON TITAN - My favourite Anime by @ayamihaya

I love anime since childhood, when I first discovered anime I was the only one in my class who knew about it. Back in the past anime was not famous at all in Bangladesh. I used to draw anime girls all over on my text book and everyone would be like why it looks like that it does not have any details on the nose and laugh it off, nowadays these class mates of mine watches anime daily and has become an otaku but at first no one inspired me expect my parents. Because my classmates could not understand the art style. Anyways, I want share with you guys about my favourite anime which is one of my favourites and it’s Attack On Titan.

Second Place: My favourite anime — Violet Evergarden. by @syberia

I could easily have chosen something related to time travel, nothing I like more than a well-planned work and that makes sense but no sir, here we are going to talk about emotions and feelings, we are going to let ourselves be carried away by an adventure that opens the way to the rediscovery of the same, if you already knew me before you may have known that Violet Evergarden is without a doubt my favorite anime, so without further ado let's talk a little about this wonderful anime.

Third Place: (Eng/Esp) InuYasha: My favorite anime by @elbuhito

Inuyasha is one of those animes that were part of my childhood and adolescence. I remember the premiere of the first episode on television, broadcast by Cartoon Network, which I missed because at that time I was taking a shower. But I was able to watch the following chapters and as I progressed I fell more in love with this anime.

How the winners were picked:

1. Admins took a look at each post and ranked entries then we tallied the scores before reaching a consensus.
2. It's not just the visual format being considered. An entry can look good on formatting but if the author isn't known to engage with other members in the community or on the platform, they'd have less points. The purpose of the contest is getting members to engage more in the community.
3. Substance of the post matters more. We're not really looking for summary posts of an anime, we're looking for posts that tells us why you love the show. So if more than half of the 1000 word post is spent explaining the plot of the story rather than what the anime meant to you, then you're not getting the assignment.
4. While 2 and 3 matters in the criteria, each judge has their own interpretation about the entry and how the posts are weighed in during deliberation.

Notes:
Even if the other participants not mentioned in the top 3 didn't qualify for prizes, more than half of the entries had good outputs. Sometimes it's only a matter of a few point difference in average that settled the score.
