featherd friends sunscape.jpg

I could not resist sharing this funny-looking chicken for this week's challenge for #smap. I know they are a certain breed, but, really how silly is this bird? Happy birdwatching to all.

Thank you @melinda010100 @barbara-orenya and @nelinoeva for this fun #smap contest. Have a great week everyone!

Until next time, this is Sunscape

Apparently, they are called Silkies and that was the first time I ever saw one too.

I love Silkies! I used to have a pair back when we were on the farm, and they were the sweetest little birds.

I bet they were sweet birds, Melinda. It was the first time I ever saw a Silkie and I was so amazed.

Right, Silvia? I had never seen a Silkie chicken before and I bet it would make an interesting painting in your style.

Many years ago I owned a cockatoo, white alba. Jakob was always loose, had to accompany him everywhere. Once we were with a chicken owner, who just had silk chickens. Jakob voluntarily went to the chickens, he fell in love with a silk hen. Can you imagine?

That is one very funny-looking chicken. I wonder if it lays eggs and if it does the eggs must also look very funny.
