Lo que me medí versus lo que compré para el Hive's Top Model 2023 [ESP-ENG]

Participar en un concurso implica inversión de esfuerzo, tiempo y dinero. El Hive's Top Model, por supuesto, no fue la excepción. Cada reto implicaba ropa, accesorios, maquillaje y en algunos casos, transporte para desplazarnos hasta una ubicación. Para el primer reto, resolví con mi clóset sin problemas. A partir del segundo reto empezó mi obsesión por hacer realidad las ideas en mi cabeza. Resolví con muchas cosas que tenía, pero también tuve que hacer un par de compras: accesorios, medias panties, maquillaje, zapatos acordes al outfit e incluso sublimar dos camisas para los videos "Short Creativo" y para el reto final.

En esta publicación les quiero contar sobre tres piezas de ropa que compré para el concurso y que pienso que fueron claves para sentir que materializaba mis ideas. Cuando compré estas piezas también me probé otras opciones, así que de eso se trata esta publicación, de contarles sobre mi proceso de elección y el porqué escogí la prenda que finalmente usé en el reto, además de algunas anécdotas.😊

Para el 3er reto del mes de mayo en la temática GLAM me imaginé un abrigo grande y peludo como la pieza clave de mi outfit. En principio lo imaginé blanco, usando lentes oscuros, perlas, labios rojos. Pero precisamente semanas antes había salido en internet la fotografía creada por inteligencia Artificial del papa Francisco utilizando un abrigo blanco gigante. Verme con el saco peludo blanco me recordaba esta imagen, además, si el blanco es un poco peligroso en piezas pequeñas, pues lo es más para una opción tan grande. Así que por eso terminé escogiendo el abrigo negro, que, por cierto, combinó perfectamente con mi vestido blanco y el estilismo que escogí.

Cuando escribí mis ideas para el short creativo sabía lo que quería: una pieza en mi outfit que incluyera a todas las chicas participantes del concurso. Miré en mi clóset pero no encontré una chaqueta o abrigo que me ayudara a complementar el outfit. Días antes había visto en una feria que estaban muy de moda las ruanas coloridas, así que quise buscar una. Me medí varios modelos y colores. La que escogí tiene tonalidades similares a los colores de Hive, y los corazones representaron para mi a todas las personas que hacemos vida en este ecosistema. Me gustó la elección que hice pero no lo voy a negar, la ruana azul es una belleza ¿cierto?

Para el último reto del concurso necesité de la ayuda de mi mamá. Después de la reunión que tuvimos con el jurado tuve tan solo dos días para concretar todos los detalles de mi participación, pues el único día que tenía disponible para grabar mi video era el jueves por la tarde. Para ese momento, yo no tenía camiseta con el logo de Hive. Por suerte ya tenía experiencia en el negocio que me ayudó con el sublimado de la camiseta y la taza para el reto anterior, así que fui hasta allá y de un día para otro me ayudaron con mi camisa de Hive. Los mocasines negros estilo cuero los compré el miércoles, junto a los zarcillos blancos que utilicé. El blazer rojo ya lo tenía, pero en mi mente faltaba algo... ¿Qué era?

Pensé y vi muchas fotografías en internet, hasta que me topé con una chica usando un "sombrero cordobés". Yo vivo en una zona muy central de Bogotá y había pasado por tiendas donde sabía que lo vendían, lo que no sabía era cuál modelo y color sería el ideal. "Ayudameee" le dije el jueves a mi mamá. Yo tenía que trabajar por la mañana y a la 1:00 p.m cuando me desocupara tenia que arreglarme el pelo y maquillarme, no me daría tiempo salir a comprar el sombrero. @Aurodivys fue como a 5 tiendas y se midió varios, de todos los tipos. Yo tuve que escogerlo por fotos y el que más me gustó fue el de acabado plano en color negro. Cuando me lo trajo a la casa y me lo medí, simplemente me encantó😍❤️ No me imagino mi participación sin ese sombrero. No se trata solo de un accesorio, estos detalles hablan de todo el esfuerzo y pasión que hay detrás de cada reto 😍. Gracias má, por tu ayuda ❤️

Estas compras fueron una inversión y cada vez que las uso recuerdo las ideas, los miedos, la expectativa, el amor y la dedicación que le puse al concurso. Participating in a contest involves investment of effort, time and money. Hive's Top Model, of course, was no exception. Each challenge involved clothing, accessories, makeup and in some cases, transportation to get us to a location. For the first challenge, I managed with my closet without any problems. From the second challenge on, I became obsessed with making the ideas in my head come true. I solved with many things I had, but I also had to make a couple of purchases: accessories, pantyhose, makeup, shoes according to the outfit and even sublimate two shirts for the "Creative Short" videos and for the final challenge.

In this post I want to tell you about three pieces of clothing that I bought for the contest and that I think were key to feel that I materialized my ideas. When I bought these pieces I also tried on other options, so that's what this post is about, telling you about my choice process and why I chose the garment I finally wore in the challenge, as well as some anecdotes.😊

For the 3rd challenge of the month of May in the GLAM theme I imagined a big furry coat as the key piece of my outfit. At first I imagined it white, wearing dark glasses, pearls, red lips. But just weeks before, a picture created by Artificial Intelligence of Pope Francis wearing a giant white coat had appeared on the internet. Seeing me with the white furry coat reminded me of this image, besides, if white is a bit dangerous in small pieces, it's even more so for such a big option. So that's why I ended up choosing the black coat, which, by the way, matched perfectly with my white dress and the styling I chose.

When I wrote down my ideas for the creative short I knew what I wanted: a piece in my outfit that would include all the girls participating in the contest. I looked in my closet but couldn't find a jacket or coat to complement the outfit. Days before I had seen at a fair that colorful ruanas were very fashionable, so I wanted to look for one. I measured several models and colors. The one I chose has shades similar to the colors of Hive, and the hearts represented for me all the people who make life in this ecosystem. I liked the choice I made but I won't deny it, the blue ruana is a beauty isn't it?

For the last challenge of the contest I needed my mom's help. After the meeting we had with the jury I had only two days to finalize all the details of my participation, because the only day I had available to record my video was Thursday afternoon. At that time, I didn't have a T-shirt with the Hive logo. Luckily I already had experience in the business that helped me with the sublimation of the t-shirt and mug for the previous challenge, so I went there and overnight they helped me with my Hive shirt. The black leather style loafers I bought on Wednesday, along with the white tendrils I used. The red blazer I already had, but in my mind something was missing? What was it?

I thought and saw many pictures on the internet, until I came across a girl wearing a "cordovan hat". I live in a very central area of Bogota and I had passed by stores where I knew they sold it, what I didn't know was which model and color would be ideal. "Help me" I said to my mom on Thursday. I had to work in the morning and at 1:00 p.m. when I got up I had to fix my hair and make up, I would not have time to go out to buy the hat. @Aurodivys went to about 5 stores and measured several, of all kinds. I had to choose by photos and the one I liked the most was the flat black one. When she brought it home and I measured it, I just loved it😍❤️ I can't imagine my participation without that hat. It's not just an accessory, these details speak of all the effort and passion behind each challenge 😍. Thank u mom❤️

These purchases were an investment and every time I use them I remember the ideas, the fears, the expectation, the love and dedication I put into the contest.
