We fear what we do not understand

Dang, it's going to be the end of 2023 in just two days as of this post. I believe it's still holidays everywhere around the world. Luckily for Malaysia, we will have holiday again in late January and early February for Chinese New Year so the holidays just keep coming. During this holiday, one good deed I can do for anybody is to teach them about Crypto. This will include starting their journey here writing on Hive. These people can be complete strangers as well; I wouldn't mind and this would be great because the more people on Hive the more Hive can grow which will make the value of Hive go even higher. The people I teach can also introduce their friends and other strangers and that would just keep growing exponentially.

I would want to teach Crypto because it can really change lives. I've seen it here on Hive and it's amazing how there's many people in third world countries that can fully sustain themselves by writing here on Hive or playing Splinterlands. In addition to that, I feel there's this neutral/negative connotation with the word crypto. When someone that doesn't understand crypto hears the word crypto, there first thought is probably scam, fraud, Bitcoin, magic money etc.

It is just true that there are scams in Crypto but even real life has scams so we can't just call out crypto because of that. Just some advice if it's too good to be true, it's usually a scam. Anyways back to the point to me, crypto is basically a digital currency or digital gold. It's really not too different from an e-wallet with money inside it and using that to make payments. The big differentiator is that you get more control in crypto over your assets. You're not really depending on a third party to utilize your money. The third party can always ban your account or freeze your accounts and they are allowed to do that because it's probably in the terms of service somewhere.

I want to use a quote to summarize this post. "We fear what we do not understand". For a lot of people, they just don't understand crypto hence they fear it and stay away from it. I feel that if I can help people and educate them on Crypto if they were willing to learn, I could get them to embrace the technology. If they were a gamer, I could get them into web3 games like Splinterlands, Gods Unchained, Skyweaver, Apeiron and many other games. If they liked to write, I could get them to write here on Hive. If they were good at drawing, I could get somebody to guide them to draw NFTs. There's NFT projects always looking for great artists. The possibilities are truly endless. The best thing of all is these people would get a mentor which I didn't have in the beginning. I mostly learned through experiencing and there was a lot of times I was scared that my money was gone or missing. Wait what ETH gas fees over $50 dollars? I'm sure we all went through this at one point. Eventually I did get a crypto mentor from playing Splinterlands and I want to be able to pass what I learned to others provided they care to listen to what I have to say.

I could see someone anti-crypto arguing that this may not be a good deed but hey I want to say it is a good deed in my opinion. If the person I taught was able to help support their family or themeself through writing on Hive, then how is that not a good deed.

Take care everyone and have a happy new years! This will be my last post in 2023 for Hive Learners.

I also think that people should teach blogging in schools. That is more useful than most of the stuff I learned(and forgot) in school.

Schools have to teach the basic curriculum stuff set by the education system and there's really barely any room for electives i think. reading, science, math , history, etc. there's no time left for blogging D:. its true that most of the stuff we forgot lol even i dont remember shit but oh well. its something we gotta learn ourselves but we figure it out after u know we see that we do enjoy writing . theres people that have that in them and eventually they will find their way into blogging :D or vlogging ig uess if they prefer to do in video

You know I also don't understand crypto and I have fear in my heart. I know about crypto but I think understanding will take long time. Although I want to learn about it in deep.
By the way it's good that you want to teach about crypto because it's future!
