We started the basic shape of the character, and as you can notice there are several changes with respect to the final version, this was because as I was drawing I changed my mind looking for the best way to make the character look better.

Iniciamos la forma básica del personaje, y como pueden notar hay varios cambios con respecto a la versión final, esto fue porque a medida que iba dibujando cambie de idea buscando de qué forma se ve mejor el personaje.

An important change I want to highlight is the character's hair, I wanted to give it movement in several directions predominantly down, also that a part of the hair interacts with the surface of the water, as if she was looking out of the water and seconds later entered the water.

Un cambio importante que quiero resaltar es el cabello del personaje, quise darle movimiento en varias direcciones predominantemente abajo, también que una parte del cabello interactuara con la superficie del agua. Como si ella fuera estado mirando fuera del agua y segundos después entrado al agua.

After a long time correcting and adding details I finish the sketch, an important change was the direction of the trident, with the tip down it looks more aggressive but I wanted to give a more peaceful touch to the character.
The next step is to do the lineart technically is to do all the drawing again in a layer above leaving only what we are going to use and adding other missing details, this step takes time.

Después de un buen rato corrigiendo y agregando detalles termino el boceto, un cambio importante fue la dirección del tridente, con la punta abajo se ve más agresiva, pero quería darle un toque más pacífico al personaje.
El siguiente paso es hacer el lineart técnicamente es hacer todo el dibujo otra vez en una capa arriba dejando solo lo que vamos a usar y agregando otros detalles faltantes, este paso lleva su tiempo.

It is time to apply the base color, before that I make a small compilation of the base color and its shade, when I am satisfied with the result I apply all the base color, this step is one of the most time consuming.

Es momento de aplicar el color base, antes de eso hago una pequeña recopilación del color base y su sombra, al estar conforme con el resultado aplico todo el color base, este paso es uno de los que más tiempo requiere.

Before applying the strong shadows and highlights, we apply a soft layer of shadow with the aereograph brush, even it is not necessary to give details, it is only a light layer to give a little depth something sut.

Antes de aplicar las sombras y luces fuertes, aplicamos una suave capa de sombra con el pincel de aereografo, aún no es necesario darle detalles, solo es una ligera capa para darle un poco de profundidad algo sutil.

We apply strong glosses and blur other parts until we get a result we are happy with, take the opportunity to add other details on the face using the same layer, lips and cheeks.

Aplicamos brillos fuertes y difuminamos otras partes hasta conseguir un resultado con el cual estar conforme, aproveche para agregar otros detalles en el rostro usando la misma capa, labios y mejillas.

On the top of the character we do a step similar to the skin, we define where the shadows and fights are before applying stronger details.

En la copa del personaje hacemos un paso parecido al de la piel, dejamos definido donde están las sombras y luches antes de aplicar detalles mas fuertes.

My favorite part of the drawing is the face and her mermaid tail, I took special time to add scales and other small details like individual glitters, this takes a lot of time but the result is very nice.

Mi parte favorita del dibujo es el rostro y su cola de sirena, me tomé tiempo especial para agregar escamas y otros pequeños detalles como brillos individuales, esto quita mucho tiempo, pero el resultado es muy bonito

On the tail layer we create two more layers to add colors and multiply effects, with this we manage to add the blue color of the tip of the tails, in the reference is not shown what color is its tail, but I imagine it is something like this.

Sobre la capa de la cola creamos dos capas más para agregar colores y efectos multiplicar, con esto logramos agregar el color azul de la punta de las colas, en la referencia no se muestra de qué color es su cola, pero imagino que es algo como esto.

The hair has a similar process but with details to highlight such as the location of the lights of greater intensity, this part of the head is closer to the surface of the water so it should have greater luminosity.

El cabello tiene un proceso similar pero con detalles a resaltar como lo es la ubicación de las luces de mayor intensidad, esta parte de la cabeza está más cerca de la superficie del agua por lo cual debería tener mayor luminosidad.

When you finish adding all the details "weapon, jewelry, makeup, glitter, etc." this is the result

Al terminar de agregar todos los detalles "arma, joyas, maquillaje, brillos, etc." este es el resultado

When making the background we must take into account the source of the light, in this case it comes from the surface of the water, I must keep in mind at all times how the light interacts with each object that I add to the drawing.

Al momento de hacer el fondo debemos tener en cuenta la fuente de la luz, en este caso viene de la superficie del agua, debo tener presente en cada momento como la luz interactúa con cada objeto que agrego al dibujo.

It is time to add small details to the rest of the seascape, always keeping in mind where the light is coming from and where the shadow will be.

Es momento de agregar pequeños detalles al resto del paisaje marino, teniendo en claro siempre de donde viene la luz y donde estará la sombra.

Finally, here we have the final result, I am very happy with the result, I feel that I could advance a lot in the development of this drawing.
