The idea for this illustration comes from another illustration with reference to a river or lake with river nymph, I made a small tribute to it by adding a river in this character without mentioning that it is also water.

La idea para esta ilustración sale de otra ilustración con referencia a un rio o lago con river nymph, hice hacer un pequeño homenaje a ella agregando un rio en este personaje sin mencionar que también es de agua.
Un rio poco profundo y el personaje sentado sobre este.

If I wanted a nice character... I had to change that crazy face that the original has haha, let's say that this is a version before falling into madness...

Si quería un personaje bonito... tenia que cambiar esa carita de loca que tiene el original jaja, digamos que esta es una versión antes de caer en la locura...

After a while and a second sketch we have the basic shape of how our illustration will look like, the part that I liked the most was her face and also the easiest or most natural to do.

Después de un rato y un segundo boceto tenemos la forma básica de como se verá nuestra ilustración, la parte que mas me gusto fue su rostro y también la que más fácil o natural me salio hacer.

After all that, it's time to do the lineart, in this step I changed some things among them the lips, improved her expression and gave a sexier touch to the one shown in the sketch.

Despues de todo eso, es el momento de hacer el lineart, en este paso cambie algunas cosas entre ellas los labios mejore su expresión y le di un toque mas sexy a la que se muestra en el boceto.

Color moment

Esta etapa consiste en aplicar todo el color base, use colores similares a los de la referencia variando un poco en la saturación, la verdad creo que fue mucho mas a mi criterio del lado izquierdo estaré dejando la paleta que fui usando.

Now we have finished applying all the base colors, here we can appreciate and correct before moving on to the next step.

Light and shadow

Taking as a reference the palette we created, we apply a little bit of shadow in the areas of greater depth, in this step it is not necessary to give many details because we are going to blur.

Tomando como referencia la paleta que creamos, aplicamos un poco de sombra en las zonas de mayor profundidad, en este paso no es necesario dar muchos detalles, pues vamos a difuminar.

The next step is to blend, we are left with this result as you can see the shadows are a little soft so it is necessary to go over certain areas until you are satisfied with the result.

El siguiente paso es difumina, nos queda este resultado como pueden ver las sombras están un poco suaves por lo que es necesario repasar ciertas zonas hasta estar conforme con el resultado.

I would say that adding details is not a single step as it is something I do from start to finish, I am always correcting and adding details in the illustration.

Diría que agregar detalles no es un paso único, pues es algo que hago desde que inicio hasta que termino, siempre estoy corrigiendo y agregando detalles en la ilustración.

These things he has on his ears... I'm not sure what they are I think they are corals or something like that, I gave him details that may not be appreciated at first glance but I like to add them, it all adds up.

Estas cosas que tiene en las orejas... no estoy seguro de que son pienso que son corales o algo parecido, le di detalles que tal vez no se aprecien a primera vista pero me gusta agregarlos, todo esto va sumando.

I am very happy with the result of the eyes, I think they really express what I wanted to achieve. I used colors similar to the reference and a little brightness without reaching the white tone.

Estoy muy conforme con el resultado de los ojos, creo que realmente expresan lo que quería lograr. Use colores parecidos a la referencia y un poco de brillo sin llegar al tono blanco.

It is time to highlight the eyelashes and other areas with the darkest color.

Es momento de resaltar las pestañas y otras zonas con el color mas oscuro.

For the background we add lights and shadows, without many details we create a base to work from.

Para el fondo agregamos luces y sombras, sin muchos detalles vamos creando una base desde donde trabajar.

The next step is to blur and highlight some highlights. The main light source is far away, so I will add light on the water to simulate the reflection of the sun.

El siguiente paso es difuminar y resaltar algunos brillos. la fuente de mayor luz está alejada, por lo que agregaré luz en el agua para simular el reflejo del sol.

Once finished the water, this is the result, I really liked it, I had a long time without drawing water I think I still have the touch hehe

We continue with the details of the rocks, adding shadows to give them relief and some details such as small plants.

Finally we finish correcting this water layer that integrates the character inside. We do the same work of lights and shadows so that it is the same as the background water.

Para finalizar terminamos de corregir esta capa de agua que integra al personaje dentro. hacemos el mismo trabajo de luces y sombras para que este sea igual que el agua de fondo.

Finally, this was the result! I'm very happy with this, I feel I should draw her together with river nymph and maybe wood nymph would be great a drawing of the three of them together hehe.

Finalmente, este fue el resultado! Estoy muy conforme con esto, siento que debo dibujarla junto a river nymph y tal vez wood nymph sería genial un dibujo de ellas tres juntas jeje.
