K.I.S.S. (keeping it short and simple) I love it! And that's the thing, right? We don't need to overcomplicate things. Prioritise and be disciplined. Perform due diligence to get the best prices on the market. Don't impulse buy.
My hubby and I agreed many years ago that if we wanted/needed to make a bigger purchase, we would always sleep on it! So we are never swayed by sales pitches in-store or on the doorstep. We always say... we'll think about it overnight and come back if we are still interested. It has saved us so much money from potential impulse buys that we subsequently rationalised were unnecessary or overpriced wants.

Exactly, prioritization, discipline, getting best prices for the necessary things saves us a lot of money.
That's a wonderful approach you and your hubby, it's a way to keep off from unnecessary buys.
