It is so hard for a parent to balance the need to provide a safe space for their children and also provide the right level of guidance and correction when needed. I'm glad your bigger memory seems to be all the love that your mom had for you and showed you. A mother's job is never done - they remain on high alert at all times around their children, never really being able to relax fully as they prioritise their children's safety above all else.
