Independence Day event at Work

Tomorrow is the big day for Pakistan, its Independence Day and yesterday we had Independence Day event at work as it was the last working day. We were advised to wear national dress/Shalwar Kameez and its color can be white, off-white or green, no jeans, pants or shirts were allowed. It was because we will be having an official group photo with the national dress format. Our office was well decorated with white and green balloons. A big sized flag was set on the front of the building. It was looking really nice.

Luckily, I have couple of white Shalwar Kameez. My parents advised to put waistcoat as well, it really looks nice on such occasions. However, it is not trending at the moment, new generation do not wear waistcoats but I do remember the time my Father used to attend such events/occasions.

Everyone used to wear the black waistcoats on white Shalwar Kameez. I have one green color type of waistcoat which I put on and went to the office. As expected, no other person was wearing waistcoat. Everyone looking at me like I am an alien, asking me is this your wedding day or some reception. Unexpectedly, most of the people appreciated the choice and give good compliments.

The atmosphere and environment of the office was looking awesome, everyone dressed well as advised. Patriotic songs were playing in the background. After a while, we all gathered at the main gate of the office for the group photo. WOW it was not an easy task. It reminds me of the assemblies in the school. But kids are easy to handle than we grown up people. Still our organizers managed to handle us. Made lines in sequence. It took long but finally they got what they wanted, took some pictures.

Then there was another take from different angle. Once again, managed well and they took some clicks. While others were busy in taking their own selfies and pictures too.
It was lovely moments and then the family of our Boss joined us in the national anthem. I was surprised to know that most of the people do remember National Anthem of Pakistan, I thought I am the only one left with exact wordings of National Anthem.

Next activity was the speech from our great Boss but before that, we had some fun together, taking pictures, doing crazy stuff. Boss arrived and we had photo session departmental wise. It speech time, Boss shared some valuable points with us and asked staff to work together in order to grow well. It was nothing scripted or written, he is so well in delivering the message.

Its time for cake cutting ceremony. Cake arrived and it was so well prepared, looking awesome. Boss did the needful and events moves on. Everyone on the rooftop for refreshments.
It was decent arrangement for the refreshment. Nothing too much or too less, an average kind of meal to get a bit of breath. This was purely refreshments. Samosa was very delicious.

Later we had some fun activities, we were divided into four teams. First activity was of Chinese whisper game, it was very interesting game and we really enjoyed and had too much fun in it. Although my team lost this activity but we had a lot of fun together. Chinese whisper looks easy but is hard to win, it is funny that the word which started from player 1 changed a lot in the end and the last player loudly say a totally different thing. Another activity was simple question and answers which we lost too. Well, I don’t lie or else I could have said here that I was the part of Team A who won but actually, I was the part of team B who came last and got too many eggs. The winning team got some cash prizes in the envelopes and also the runner ups got some cash too. It was all good but little painful as we lost hehehe

No doubt, event was well organized and we had a great time altogether, enjoyed taking pictures selfies and much more. While going back home, I took this picture of this roundabout full of flags, its called Brooks Chowrangi and it was looking really nice.
