The paper

On a radiant morning I got up to prepare my delicious coffee, I opened the package of coffee of my favorite brand, 'Premium coffee'. I started to take out the coffee powder which had a delicious aroma that penetrated my nostrils, seducing my mind that was screaming for the desired caffeine.

As I pulled out the coffee powder, I could see something strange peeking out from inside the packaging. My curiosity began to tingle my mind, I put my hand inside and managed to take a piece of paper, I pulled it out, my anxious eyes fell on the letters written there, the note said, "help me, help me, I have been held captive for a long time, I hope whoever you are can help me get out of this prison".

I was stunned reading the note and could not believe what it said, the most mysterious thing was that there was no sender. I didn't know what to do, I thought the note could be a bad joke, but my curiosity had taken over my mind and I couldn't get the concern out of that call for help.

I only had the information on the package where it specified the address of the factory. The most sensible thing I could do was to call the police, "Hello, gentlemen of the police, I want to report a kidnapping."

"Sure, miss, you can give me the data and we will proceed with the investigation." The officer would answer attentively and with eager speech solicited an answer from me.

"What happens is that I found a note on the packaging of my favorite coffee, but it has no further information. The note said that someone had been held captive for a long time and asked for urgent help". Anxiously I told her everything I knew, without forgetting any details.

"Miss, is this a joke, you say that because of a piece of paper you found in the packaging you assume that someone is kidnapped? and besides that there is not sender or address or anything else that would lead us to investigate further. We cannot act on a foundation and without knowing if it is an invention of yours. Thank you very much for calling, see you later." After I finished speaking the sound of the phone hanging up echoed in my ears.

I decided to leave the matter in oblivion, the next day I went out to run an errand, that yes, not without first carrying in a container my delicious coffee, very hot and loaded. As fate would have it, I had to pass by the coffee factory and I remembered the note, something mysterious prompted me to get out of the car and look around the place.

I started to look through the windows of the place, I went to the back of the building, opaque for the years. In the alley I saw a door open, a man came out with garbage and looked at me peeking through the window. "Hey, what are you doing," the man shouted violently, his excited eyes focused on me.

I scared I ran, as the man came after me. He was running faster so he caught up to me and grabbed my arm, with a foreign accent he was saying, "you can't be here, get out!".

"Ok... Ok... don't... worry..." I blurted out some hesitant words in a submissive tone.

At that instant some screams were coming out of the faded building. "Help, help, get us out of here!"

My eyes were exalted at the screams and the stunned man could only clutch me tightly, at that instant I pulled out my container and uncovered it. I poured the hot coffee in his face, the man screamed in pain and took a few steps backwards falling backwards, hitting his head and losing consciousness.

The screams went on and on and the factory guards began to run through the premises. At that moment a patrol car was passing by on the main street and I ran to call for help. The agents got out and the action began, after a few hours everything ended with the capture of the owners and the factory guards.

After a day of many emotions and action, the policemen informed me that the factory used foreign labor and kept them in captivity, a kind of human trafficking.

At that moment, a man came in and addressed me, "Thank you very much, Miss. I am Felipe and 10 years ago I was brought to this country, I was enslaved, I always left notes on the coffee packages, hoping that someone would assist our help. You were sent by the Blessed Virgin." Tears streamed from her face and a warm embrace possessed my body.

All I could say in that moment of intense emotion was, "Don't thank me, thank my hot coffee, which saved us, hehehe."

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Reality is more terrifying than fiction, the plight of immigrants is very terrible and they often fall into these criminal organizations that traffic in they.

Thanks for the visit, I leave you a cup of delicious coffee.☕
Take care.
