Welcome to Qurator's Mischievous Mondays!

This will be a weekly competition that we will be hosting every Monday. We want to see a little more engagement and fun when it comes to some of our competitions so this will be a simpler and shorter competition. Easy to enter, but maybe not so easy to win. ;) This competition will be similar to the Monday Missions we had a long time ago, but instead of writing posts to enter we will now consider only the comments and answers on this blog as your entry to win.

Why Mischievous?

We all could use a little fun in our lives. We would even say that we deserve it, let loose a little and have a go at making everyone laugh or think a little, even if it is a little over the top or pure silliness. Go all out and let your creative juices flow.

This week's theme : Let's make a game!

If you could make any kind of game, what game would you make? This is a digital game for our phones or computers. Think of a game that might have never been created before. Good luck!

Congrats to all of the winners!

With zero creativity skills here thinking about creating a game would be something like a Zelda quest game where you have to move through a land (think gameboy style, not all of these new ones). It feels like also some AI should be intergrated in there, so you run into the monsters that 'fear you the most''based on what your AI profile coms up with :D

I would call it 'The worst Nightmare

Maze Against Time

This game, like any other, aims to establish a winner, and the one who manages to complete the challenge in less time wins.

The game is simple and only requires a pen, sheets of paper, and a stopwatch.

Each round, a player needs to draw a maze on a sheet, with an entrance and an exit. They have exactly 3 minutes to do this. If they finish drawing the maze in less than 3 minutes, that extra time will be a benefit.

Once the maze is ready, it will be the next player's turn. They have to pass through the drawing, tracing the paper along the way and try to find the exit as quickly as possible. They have 2 minutes to solve the challenge.

If they succeed, they will earn 3 points. If not, the player who created the map will earn 3 points to be multiplied by the remaining time.

Examples:

  • When the player solves the maze, the remaining time will be multiplied by 3.

Ed finished the challenge in 1 minute and 20 seconds. That means, he had 40 seconds left.

40 x 3 = 120

Ed scored 120 points.

  • The maze owner created it in 2 minutes, so they have 60 seconds left, which will be multiplied by 3 if the challenging player cannot find the exit.

So, the maze owner will have earned:

3 x 60 = 180 points

Several people can play, and the one who earns the most points wins.

Time is an important factor since it will be the point multiplier. Therefore, those who are more efficient in less time will have a better chance of winning Maze Against Time!

Game Title: "Notepad Quest"

Game Description:

"Notepad Quest" is a unique game that exclusively utilizes the notepad feature of the cell phone to create an immersive and challenging gaming experience. Players embark on an epic journey through a fantasy world where they must use their creativity and problem-solving skills to advance the story and face exciting challenges.

Game Rules:

1. Character Creation:

  • Players begin by creating their own character in the notepad, describing their appearance, abilities, and origin.
  • The character can be a warrior, mage, thief, or any other imaginable class.

2. World Exploration:

  • Players explore the game world through detailed descriptions written in the notepad.
  • They may encounter cities, dungeons, forests, mountains, and other fantastic locations, each with their own challenges and secrets.

3. Interactivity:

  • Players interact with the environment and game characters by writing commands and choices directly in the notepad.
  • For example, to converse with a NPC (non-player character), the player can write a question or response, and the NPC's reply will be written below.

4. Combat and Challenges:

  • During exploration, players will encounter enemies and challenges to overcome.
  • Battles are described in text, and players must plan their strategies and attacks by writing their actions in the notepad.
  • Challenges may include puzzles, riddles, and traps that players must solve using only text.

5. Progression and Story:

  • As players progress through the story, they can save their progress by writing save notes in the notepad.
  • The story unfolds through detailed descriptions and written dialogues, allowing players to fully immerse themselves in the game world.

Creativity and Freedom

"Notepad Quest" encourages players to be creative and think outside the box, allowing them to experiment with different approaches to problem-solving and interacting with the game world.

"Notepad Quest" offers an innovative gaming experience that challenges players to explore the full potential of the simple notepad feature of the cell phone. Whether you're a word master or a fearless adventurer, get ready for a journey like no other!

I saw this topic earlier this week and I thought of what post to make but nothing came to mind. It's a kind of hard because I am not a game developer as I do not actually play games due to the stress load of things on here.

So far, most of the games I have played are somewhat easy to play. If I am to make a game, I will make an arcade game, where the side characters don't stand at a place to be killed by the main players. If i am to build a game, I would want to build a game where the side characters get to learn from the mistakes that got them killed, making them upgrade in battle experience and know how to counter a previous mistake.
This will continuously improve the difficulty of the game and at the same time, improve the main player. To make it more interesting and less frustrating, the ratio by which the side players learn from their mistakes will be somewhat slower than the speed inwhich the main players learn.

I think this feature will help players not underestimate any game and feel good when they are playing any game.
