Throughout history, there have been many women who have struggled to make their own place in the world, a hostile and sexist world, which had not wanted to accommodate women. Since always, it has been thought that women are only to bring children into the world, to take care of the husband and the home, to keep the man satisfied, from every point of view and to educate the children. Men were only to play the role of provider.
Fortunately, over the years, this has been changing. Women have made their way, their struggle has been tireless and today, although there are still certain taboos, women occupy important roles in society, in any field of work.
1️⃣ ¿What does Women's Empowerment mean to you and what are some of your personal experiences that motivated you to think/concern about women's empowerment?
Women empowerment is when women can make use of all the resources that society allows them to be present in any aspect of it, such as politics, medicine, society and economy and in this way, be protagonists and main participants in the important changes that are taking place.
An empowered woman aims to take on challenges that drive change in society. Enough of thinking of women as the weaker sex.
What weak sex? A woman can bear the weight of pregnancy, labor pains, and belly pains for eight months without many complaints. A woman, when she is at home, gets up early, dresses the children, makes breakfast for them and her husband. Then she takes them to school.
She comes home, prepares lunch, cleans and tidies the whole house, looks for the children, gives them lunch, helps them with their homework, if she has to go out to run some errand for her husband, she does it, takes the children to sports or any extracurricular activity, comes home, makes dinner, takes a bath and gets ready to receive her husband.
So who said that women are the weaker sex?
A man gets the flu and climbs into bed feeling like he's dying. They can't handle it all. Furthermore, an empowered woman can do all this and she also works, she has a job that brings money into the house.
Remember the masterful film "Hidden Figures"? Women who, apart from the very macho and hostile era that touched them, also had the peculiarity of being African-American and the racism of the time played a very important role in the lives of each one of them. But they did not give up, they went ahead in spite of the adversities. They fought to remove all barriers and played a very important role as facilitators to help other women continue to grow. This is what, to me, is the faithful example of an empowered woman.
2️⃣ How would you like to tell young women today, what advice would you give them?
Just something as simple, like:
👍🏻You can, you are valuable, unique, great and invincible, simply wonderful.
👍🏻Focus on getting ahead, pursue constant study, learn several languages, let your mind shine, let your soul bring out the best in you.
👍🏻Never let anyone humiliate you, never let a man lay a hand on you.
👍🏻Set clear goals and objectives that are not impossible to achieve.
👍🏻Live one day at a time, but don't abandon your dreams. They are the key to success.
👍🏻Eliminate the phrase "I can't" from your vocabulary.

"Una mujer ignorante, es como una flor sin perfume"
A lo largo de la historia, han sido muchas las féminas que han luchado por hacerse su propio lugar en el mundo, un mundo, hostil y machista, que no le había querido dar cabida a las mujeres. Desde siempre, se ha pensado que la mujer es solo para traer niños al mundo, cuidar del esposo y del hogar, mantener satisfecho al hombre, desde todo punto de vista y educar a los críos. Al hombre, solo le tocaba el papel de proveedor.
Afortunadamente, con el paso de los años, esto ha ido cambiando. Las mujeres se han abierto paso, su lucha ha sido incansable y hoy en día, a pesar de que aún existen ciertos tabúes, las mujeres ocupan roles importantes dentro de la sociedad, en cualquier ámbito laboral.
1️⃣ ¿Qué significa para ti el Empoderamiento de la Mujer y cuáles son algunas de tus experiencias personales que te motivaron a pensar/preocuparte por el empoderamiento de la mujer?
El empoderamiento femenino es cuando las mujeres pueden hacer uso de todos los recursos que la sociedad le permite para estar presentes en cualquier aspecto de la misma, como política, medicina, sociedad y economía y de esta manera, ser protagonistas y partícipes principales en los cambios importantes que se vayan dando.
Una mujer empoderada pretende asumir retos que impulsen el cambio en la sociedad. Ya basta de pensar en la mujer como el sexo débil.
¿Cuál sexo débil? Una mujer puede aguantar ocho meses tranquila el peso que significa un embarazo, los dolores de parto, de vientre sin muchas quejas. Una mujer, cuando está en casa, se levanta temprano, viste a los niños, hace el desayuno para ellos y su esposo. Luego los lleva al colegio.
Vuelve a casa, prepara el almuerzo, limpia y ordena toda la casa, busca a los niños, les da la comida, los ayuda en sus tareas, si tiene que salir a hacer alguna diligencia del esposo, la hace, lleva a los niños al deporte o cualquier actividad extracurricular, vuelve a casa, hace la cena, se da un baño y se arregla para recibir al esposo.
Entonces, ¿quién dijo que la mujer es el sexo débil?
A un hombre le da gripe y se monta en la cama sintiendo que se está muriendo. No pueden con todo esto. Además, una mujer empoderada, puede hacer todo esto y además trabaja, tiene un empleo con el que aporta dinero a la casa.
¿Se acuerdan de la magistral película de cine "Hidden Figures"? Estas mujeres que, aparte de la época tan machista y hostil que les tocó, también tenían la peculiaridad de ser afroamericanas y el racismo de la época jugó un papel muy importante en la vida de cada una de ellas. Pero no se doblegaron, siguieron adelante a pesar de las adversidades. Lucharon por eliminar todas las barreras y desempeñaron un papel muy importante como facilitadoras para ayudar a otras mujeres a seguir creciendo. Este es lo que, para mí, es el ejemplo fiel de una mujer empoderada.
2️⃣ ¿Qué te gustaría decir a las mujeres jóvenes de hoy, qué consejo les darías?
Algo tan simple, como:
👍🏻Si puedes, eres valiosa, única, grandiosa e invencible, simplemente maravillosa.
👍🏻Enfócate en salir adelante, sigue el estudio constante, aprende varios idiomas, haz que tu mente brille, que tu alma aflore lo mejor de ti.
👍🏻Nunca permitas que nadie te humille, ni que un hombre te ponga una mano encima.
👍🏻Traza metas y objetivos claros, que no sean imposibles de alcanzar.
👍🏻Vive un día a la vez, pero no abandones tus sueños. Ellos son la clave para triunfar.
👍🏻Elimina la frase "no puedo" de tu vocabulario.
