Lion statues are usually erected at the entrance of pagodas and monasteries in Myanmar. Other statues like dragons, garudas, ogres, etc. can be seen near and around pagodas.

Yes, there could be. They are like guardians to the pagoda. For the special meaning, I need to ask old people here I think. Thank you for the comment.
