Observing the nature of the Park (Eng/Esp)

Exercising was one of my resolutions for this new year, and as well as getting the body moving, it is also very important to fill the spirit with good energy, what better than being in a natural environment with lots of vegetation and where you can hear the sounds of nature while walking.
Hacer ejercicios fue uno de mis propósitos para este nuevo año y como además de poner el cuerpo en movimiento es también muy importante llenar el espíritu de buenas energías, que mejor que estar en un ambiente natural con mucha vegetación y donde al caminar se escuchen los sonidos de la naturaleza.
I started my routine in Santos Michelena Park, which is close to where I live in the city of Maracay. There are walking paths, exercise equipment and lots of green areas.
During the tour, I met animals and plants that coexist in the park and are a sample of how wonderful nature is in this place so close to the city, but it is a refuge for these species.
Comencé mi rutina en el parque Santos Michelena que queda cerca de donde vivo en la ciudad de Maracay. Allí hay caminerias, aparatos para hacer ejercicios y mucha área verde.
Durante el recorrido me encontré con animales y plantas que conviven en el parque y son una muestra de lo maravillosa que es la naturaleza en este lugar tan cerca de la ciudad, pero que es un refugio para estas especies.
This big iguana impressed the people who saw her. She was very calm and walked very slowly, and when a man came very close to her and tried to make her leave the road, she raised her tail as a sign of defense. But she didn't need to use it because the man moved away from her. It was a good decision because they are free to walk wherever they want.
Esta gran iguana impresionó a las personas que la veían. Ella muy tranquila caminaba muy despacio y en una oportunidad que un señor se le acercó mucho e intento hacerla salir del camino, levantó la cola en señal de defensa. Pero no tuvo necesidad de usarla pues el hombre se apartó de ella, fue una buena decisión porque ellas son libres de caminar por donde quieran.
This month, the heat has been very strong, and the need for water is high. There, the iguana was able to drink water and continue on its way.
En este mes el calor ha sido muy fuerte y la necesidad de agua es alta. Allí la iguana pudo tomar agua y continuar su camino.
While I was taking pictures, I saw another younger iguana climbing a tree. They are herbivorous animals and usually feed on tender shoots.
Despite the warm months, which have been atypical for this time of year, many trees are keeping their leaves, and that is very good for the iguanas.
Mientras le tomaba fotos vi otra iguana más joven subida a un árbol. Ellos son animales herbívoros y generalmente se alimentan de los brotes tiernos. A pesar de los meses de calor, que han sido atípicos en esta época del año, muchos árboles mantienen las hojas y eso es muy bueno para las iguanas.
I continued on my way and heard the loud squawks of two cari-cari, which is what we call these birds, small sparrowhawks, in our country. It was a pair, and although I could not take a better picture, there they were flying towards other trees.
Continúe mi camino y escuche los fuertes graznidos de dos cari-cari, que así llamamos en nuestro país a estas aves, pequeños gavilanes. Era una pareja y aunque no pude tomar una mejor fotografía, allí estaban volando hacia otros árboles.
I turned off the trails and started walking through an area that was a little wet, and there was a white heron looking for food. There are many in this region, which is a valley surrounded by mountains.
Me desvié de las caminerías y comencé a caminar por un área que estaba un poco húmeda y Ally estaba una garza blanca buscando alimentos. Hay muchas en esta región, que es un valle rodeado de montañas.
As I photographed it, I approached and observed this small purple flowering plant of the Fabacea family, formerly Leguminosae, genus Desmodium with trifoliate leaves.
Al fotografiarla me acerqué y observé esta pequeña planta de flores moradas de la familia Fabacea, antigua Leguminosa, género Desmodium con hojas trifoliadas.
It was being visited by these beautiful blue butterflies. They are very small, between 20 and 30 mm. Look at the details of their wings and antennae. According to the literature reviewed, it is the species Hemiargus ceraunus of the family Lycaenidae where the male and female are differentiated by the color of the wings. The males are predominantly blue, and the females are predominantly light brown.
Estaba siendo visitada por estas hermosas mariposas azules. Son muy pequeñas, entre 20 y 30 mm. Miren los detalles de sus alas y sus antenas. Según la literatura revisada es la especie Hemiargus ceraunus de la familia Lycaenidae donde el macho y la hembra se diferencian por el color de las alas. En los machos predomina el color azul y en las hembras el marrón claro.
I continued crossing this area, and to my surprise, I found two birds running very fast from one side to the other. It was a pair of alcaravans. I was there for a while watching them and trying to photograph them, but as I got closer, they ran away.
They looked very funny. I would have liked to see them in more detail. They looked like a pair because of the difference in plumage colors. One was lighter and blended in with the dry grass; the other was darker. Reviewing the literature there, it is pointed out that they are monogamous. They usually travel in pairs or in small groups.
Seguí atravesando esta zona y para mi sorpresa me encontré con dos aves que corrían muy rápido de un lado a otro. Era una pareja de alcaravanes. Allí estuve un rato observándolas y tratando de fotografiarlas, pero en lo que me acercaba ellas corrían. Se veían muy graciosas.
Me hubiera gustado verlas con más detalle. Parecían una pareja por la diferencia en los colores del plumaje. Una era más clara y se confundía con la hierba seca, la otra de colores más oscuros. Revisando la literatura allí se señala que son monógamas y generalmente andan en pareja o en pequeños grupos.
The alcaravanes are very common in the Venezuelan plains, and there are many songs and beliefs about these beautiful and curious birds. One of these says that if the song of an alcaravan is heard near a house where women live, it means that one of them is pregnant.
The Venezuelan alcaravan Burhinus bistriatus has nocturnal habits; its eyes are large and yellow, and in the photographs you can see its long yellow legs.
Los alcaravanes son muy comunes en el llano venezolano y hay muchas canciones y creencias sobre estas hermosas y curiosas aves. Una de estas dice que si se escucha el canto de un alcaravan cerca de una casa donde vivan mujeres, quiere decir que alguna de ellas está embarazada.
El alcaravan venezolano Burhinus bistriatus tiene hábitos nocturnos, sus ojos son grandes y amarillos como se puede observar en las fotografías y sus patas largas y amarillas.
In the following days of my visits to this beautiful park, I continued to find these inhabitants. I watch and listen to them as I pass through the green paths.
En los días siguientes de mis visitas a este hermoso parque seguí encontrando a estos habitantes, los observo y escucho al pasar por los caminos verdes.

Las parejas se ve que son inseparables. Si es tan rápido como menciona y también cuando cantan. Es interesante cuando mencionaste que la mujeres podían estar embarazadas. Esto me llamo la atención jejeje

That is a popular belief and has been popularized in songs.
