My Poor Financial Decisions

Hello good morning everyone here. This week's #hivenaijaweekly prompt is what everybody has had an experience with. We are made to explore and recount the poor financial decisions we have made. Well, everyone is a victim of this. We have Squander and are left with nothing. At times we do sit and regret, making such decisions.

Poor financial decisions have led to one's destruction and restlessness in the body, mind, and spirit of the person. Lack of self-discipline is one of the attributes of a man who doesn't know how to manage his finances. Many rich men go poor today because there is no financial wisdom to manage their money for something productive. They kept on spending and throwing money here and there, not knowing they would go bankrupt one day. Now it has finished, they are begging to eat.

Spending wisely is good and helpful and if you find it very difficult to maintain healthy financial decisions, make a budget that will help you keep a record of your expenditures and self-control is very crucial.

This is how my financial life goes.
I am the kind of person who doesn't have control over money. I spend my small money on clothes and cosmetics that will make me beautiful, until now I'm still looking for a way to spend. And this helps me a lot. I have two bank accounts one for investment and the other is general. This is it, if I don't want to spend that money, I will forward it to my investment account to avoid being used. Before I used to spend money on buying body creams that would give me a beautiful dark complexion. There was a time I bought 3 different body creams in one week, due to the reaction of the cream on my skin, I kept on changing one cream to another until I stumbled on Nivea creme that nourishes/moisturizes my skin to my best. I decided to settle for that one.

Many people have made poor financial decisions by spending on unnecessary things, especially when they don't what they should prioritize, before going for another.

Another thing that drains people is the poor way of investment. We have many crypto platforms where we can invest our money and earn rewards, unfortunately, those platforms seem to be false. You will see after investing like 1m before you knew it, everything has gone. This is why we need to ask questions before investing in any platform.

I could recall the year I invested in MBA forex over a million naira in my aunt. Each month I would receive an alert of 200,000 NGN. After 2 months I didn't receive an alert again. Everything crashed and we left with nothing. My happiness was that my aunt used half of that money to buy a plot of land for herself.

Therefore, we should be careful of how we spend and invest. If you want to be financially wise mingle with financially-minded people who will exert their influence on you. Ask questions a lot when it comes to finance.
