Monomad challenge - BW - Gloomy day near the lake

Title: BW - Gloomy day near the lake

I went for a walk to the lake a few days ago on a gloomy, wet, and cold day. All the way to the lake, my focus was on trees and leaves. When I got to the lake, I first saw a big white mute swan floating in the middle of the lake. This small artificial lake is often visited by various birds. However, the largest number of birds are found in the canal surrounding this lake.

I circled the lake for a few minutes, photographing the swan, until a juvenile duck caught my attention simply by sailing into the frame. Then, while searching for a decent angle, I attempted to take alternating photos of them.

These birds were entirely focused on seeking food, and they paid no attention to one another.

In the meantime, it started to drizzle and I headed back home.
