I absolutely agree with you. It is a very archaic way of thinking. Men these days sef, not all of them are bold enough to stake their claim or ask for what they want. It doesn't make them any less of a man but it also means that they need a someone else to complement them in the areas that they lack.

At first I used to be shy, but I later realised that if you get rejected it is not the end of the world, neither is it your fault. You can't expect to get a yes from every guy you like. It's just like saying that you should give up looking for a job just because you were rejected once or twice. It doesn't make sense.

Sincerely speaking, you said my mind straight and direct. Though it obvious that a lot of ladies are terrified of how people will perceive them if they decide to voice out their feelings, societal rejection and discrimination can be very cruel which has made it more difficult to abolish this absurd culture of men should speak out first.

A lot of men are terrified to speak with a lady which is a secret a lot of ladies are not aware of, some men get intimidated very easily which made them shy away instead of expressing their feelings, due to this men should speak first ideology a lot of women have lost their opportunity to be with the man they love.

I couldn’t agree more. We have passed that stage where it’s only the duty of a guy to ask a woman out. We’re at a state where everyone is fighting for equality and this should be one. No woman should be branded wayward or bad for asking a guy out. Sometimes us guys don’t see all these so called green light😅.
