When we speak about female birds, we all would agree they lack the splendour of their partners. And yet, they have such an important role bringing up the chicks. Some nay argue, that the male birds share the burden and it is true. However, the females have no intention to be attractive, they are the ones to judge and choose who the father will be.

Even though the female birds are looking dull, compared to the male birds, it is still nice to have them photographed. And that's what the round 161 was about. Looking at the photos you submitted, I must say, your birds did look great and not dull at all.
