Next challenge, as some of you might have guessed is Short-legged birds. Yes, after a week dedicated to the long legs, it is time now to focus to the short birds and here you can find a lot and different ones. Ducks, geese, swans, pelicans, woodpeckers and many small birds... pigeons too, you have a big choice.

Oh I love the house martins. We have quite a few families around our homestead. Sweet birds. But your owl! He's a beauty

House martins are plenty when they arrive in spring, now all gone south.
The owl was the highlight for this year. Absolutely gorgeous. Also gone to warmer places.

Interesting! I didn't know the owl migrates over winter.

Here I found the perfect short legged candadite. Sunbirds enjoying the onion fields

I also did not know about the migration of the Long-eared Owl before (the one on my photo). I could be mistaken about the owls I saw and they could be still somewhere nearby. I just read that owls from Northern Europe migrate.
