I think this phenomenon is the same as “not reading the fine print in contracts” or at least it is very similar to that other social phenomenon.

I have manuals and instructions scattered all over the house, I learned to use the devices in question the old fashioned way, “Youtube video”.

I don't know why, but I am more auditory than visual. That is, to focus I have to see and hear the source of the information I want to understand.
Do you know what I mean?

Absolutely understand. I also store away my instructions manuals in the drawer. Once the drawer eats them, I turn to YouTube. Always someone there with my problem waiting for me. I take my laptop to the issue at hand and go step-by-step.

Why don't manufacturers do this for their customers automatically? They don't even send manuals when the products are delivered. The 1-page sheet instructs you to go online and print out the manual. WTH. It's easier to locate a YouTube instructor.

Thanks so much for stopping by and validating that I'm not alone in my instruction manual debacle. I appreciate your engagement and support. Take care.
