Melcocho River // Río Melcocho

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well. I haven't posted in a while because I was on a trip with some friends to a nature reserve called Río Melcocho. There is no internet in the area, so I had to wait until I got back home to share some photos of this adventure with you.

Hola a todos espero se encuentren muy bien, hace días no publicaba porque estaba de viaje junto con unos amigos en una reserva natural llamada Río Melcocho, en el lugar no hay internet entonces tuve que esperar a estar devuelta en casa para compartir con ustedes algunas fotos de esta aventura.

Entering this protected area, we are greeted by this giant Buddha, to remind us of the importance of being one with nature. The reserve has over 400 hectares of forests, rivers, and waterfalls, and is home to numerous species of flora and fauna, some of them endangered. Among the animal species that inhabit the reserve are jaguars, anteaters, foxes, toucans, among others.

Entrando a esta área protegida nos recibe este buda gigante, para recordar lo importante de ser uno con la naturaleza, la reserva cuenta con más de 400 hectáreas de bosques, ríos y cascadas, y es hogar de numerosas especies de flora y fauna, algunas de ellas en peligro de extinción. Entre las especies animales que habitan en la reserva se encuentran jaguares, osos hormigueros, zorros, tucanes, entre otros.

My friends and I walked for about an hour and a half until we reached the cabin where we spent the night. This little cabin was built on top of a rock to intervene as little as possible in the ecosystem. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of it because we arrived at night and there was no light there. The next day we woke up early and walked upstream to explore the canyon and the river. It was a fantastic experience to see that there are still such pristine places that are protected, because this place is an incredible source of water.

Mis amigos y yo caminamos alrededor de una hora y media hasta llegar a la cabaña donde pasamos la noche, esta cabañita la construyeron encima de una roca para intervenir lo menos posible el ecosistema, lastimosamente no tengo fotos de esta porque llegamos de noche y no había luz allí. Al otro día madrugamos y caminamos rio arriba para conocer el cañón y el río fue una experiencia fantástica ver que todavía quedan lugares tan vírgenes y que están protegidos, porque la verdad este lugar es una fuente de agua increíble.

Unfortunately, where humans go, they leave a mark, and it's not always a positive one. Here we see a photo of a sock, and nature is so beautiful that it decorates the mess of humans with some butterflies. To end our day, we had an intense blue sunset in the middle of the canyon, and that's it. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did, my friends.

Lastimosamente donde pasa el humano deja huella y no siempre es una huella positiva, acá vemos la foto de una media y la naturaleza es tan hermosa que adorna con unas mariposas el desastre del humano, para finalizar nuestro día nos hizo un atardecer super azul intenso en medio del cañón, y eso es todo espero les haya gustado amigos tanto como a mi.
