Indian Festival means prayers, sweets, colors, lights, family and friends. I always look forward to this time of the year, because it brings in so much of cheer in to our lives. Being out of India during this time I do miss the vibe but then here in Muscat also we do celebrate the festival. Not as grand as we would do back home but we make it a point to do some special things with our friends to keep the festival spirit high.

Last month I celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi, this is a very important festival for me, as I bring Lord Ganesha to my home. Now the Navratri celebrations are going on and it's happening at multiple locations in the city. Over the weekend we went for one of them and it was so much fun. Everyone around was in colorful clothes and dancing on the tune of the DJ.

Over the weekend the Navratri community celebrations that I went for.

I am very happy since next week I will be travelling to India and will be home during Diwali time. I will be celebrating Diwali with my Son and some friends. Sadly, hubby has not got leave so he will be here in Muscat and yes all celebrations without him feel incomplete. Every year we have friends come over home, we have dinner together and then we burst crackers. I light up my house with Diya's.

On the Diwali morning I go to Babulnath Temple, it's a Shiv Temple, which is just behind my home. On Diwali I do not make any sweets at home nor do I order because some of my friends send it at our home, which is like a ritual. Ganesh Chaturthi is the only time when I make sweets at home.

The dates and Prunes sweets that I made for Ganesh Chaturthi.

Dressing up is always special on Diwali. I like to wear a Saree on this day. I do not wear Saree very often, it's only if I have to go for a wedding or during Diwali that I wear a Saree. It becomes very special for me.

I enjoy making Rangoli at my door step, this is something that I always do for all festivals.

When my Son was in school, during Diwali holidays we would normally go for a vacation somewhere, but since the last few years that's not been the case. We spend this day at home with family and friends.

This Friday I will be attending the first Diwali party at one of our friend's homes and from then on it will go on where every few days there will be an invitation.

It's a wonderful joyous time and no matter whatever the mood is, during this time with all this cheer we forget our problems and just enjoy the season.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

It's always a delight to read about other cultures. Thanks for sharing.
Love your tradition of making what you call Rangoli, it's pretty and I'm pretty sure it makes your visitors feel the more welcome. 😊

It brings a new happiness in our life. Navratri is very beautiful for everyone and the coming Diwali will be even more beautiful with sweets and lighting of lamps. We get a few days off from our work and those days become beautiful for us

It's very beautiful
