Holiday Spending Spree! Time With Family

Holidays are the best time for me to do a lot of things but more importantly, the December holiday brings more opportunities to cover up a lot of gaps that have been created during the year, especially on the family front. In this post, I intend to update my friends and followers on what arrangements I have put in place to enjoy my holiday. Come along with me.

Sleeping Time

Our holiday begins on Friday, 15th December. In all, there will be three weeks of bliss for me. These three weeks will be judiciously used, at least to wake up a little late in the morning instead of the early morning arrangement of 4:00 am. This will give me a lot more time to sleep. You know what they say in Nigeria,

Body no be firewood.

Health indeed is wealth and I am grateful for my kind of health status while taking cognizance of the need to maintain good health through rest, relaxation, and sleep. So, one thing I would do during the holiday is to sleep.

Visiting Family Relatives

As a typical Igbo man, it is a call to duty to travel to the East for Christmas. The major reason why people travel to their home town is to get their children familiarised with their roots. Unfortunately, this year, I won't be traveling and many of my family and relatives who are in Lagos will not be traveling because of the inflation in the cost of goods and services.
Transport to the east now is another topic. I think it is unwise to spend all one's savings for the year only on traveling and start all over again in January.
So, I would take my family with my relatives around Lagos and spend some time with them.
My immediate extended family will converge at my dad's place in Lagos. That would be an awesome experience, having all the children around and the newlyweds and whatnot, it promises to be a good time with them all.

Beachfront Party

26th December is one day all the children in the family have been looking up to. We planned to have a family beach party at the famous Elegushi Beach. We haven't been to the beach in recent times because of our tight and busy schedules.
There, we shall treat ourselves to dance, food, and games. We shall take the kids on a short horse ride around the beach.

I have warned the children not to go anywhere around the body of the seawater. This is the only aspect I fear and that is being taken care of.

Colourful Decorations

Since there are going to be many children at home and adults who like the freaky Christmas holiday and the paraphernalia that come with it, one has no choice but you make the home look beautiful in Christmas colors. I have loved to see the Christmas tree that we used to play with during our childhood days, it will be an honor to have it strategically located on the parlor for the children to also see.

Movies At The Cinema

My children have asked me severally to take them to the cinema to see a movie but time has not permitted me. This holiday will be an opportunity to afford the request. We already have a list of movies that we would like to watch. Top on our list is Across the Spider-Verse. I heard the movie is trending and would love to see it.

These kids got themselves talking about movies in their class after their examination and now, they want us to go see it. It would be nice to make them see it, won't it?
This Christmas certainly is going to be a boom for the children and I but more for my nephew and nieces that are all going to be around to mark the yuletide.

This post is submitted to the #Hivenaijaweekly prompt. Perhaps you'd like to share your story or plans for the holiday and your views on subsequent prompts, kindly read up the Announcement Post and follow the rules

Your plans for Christmas are resembling to Eid plans as we meet our family(extended family and friends) also we go out but yeah I have never been to cinema. I am sure I will be there but not with my niece and I will prefer to be there with my friends, because I feel comfortable in between them.
Good luck for Christmas! 💕

Many thanks, @tahastories1. This holiday came at such a time when money is scarce and our economy is biting hard. That is not an excuse not to have fun, though.

I have heard a lot about #Hivepakistan and hope to learn more to be part of your great team.
