My entry to the needlework contest: some things i want to learn for the upcoming year

A compliment of the season to all the needlework lovers: how are you all enjoying this Christmas? I hope it is peaceful.

I am very happy to participate in the on-going contest here in the NeedleWorkMonday community.

I am going to write about what I want to learn or accomplish this upcoming year. I have many things I wish to learn in the upcoming year.

  • I want to learn how to sew a car stearing. This particular work has been disturbing me for so long, but I desire to learn it next year.

People have brought this particular work for me to do for them, but I reject it, and worst of all, there is no one who can sew a car stearing at my area. My customer really disturb me to go on a training course on it because most of them bought an old car and worked on it to make it new so that it could move in price. So because of this, the perfect buying a stearing cover to cover the stearing, which will still show that the car is an old car.

I plan to meet one of my online friends to organize an online class for me to learn it, and I will also watch a tutorial on YouTube to gain knowledge.

  • The next thing I choose to learn next year, which I have started, is how to sew and design a senator top and trouser.

I have this in mind, even before I choose to go on upholstery of car seat. It was what I wanted to learn, but the number of tailors was too much. I consider another option.

Since I am able to make use of a sewing machine very well, it will not suffer me much; it is just to learn how to cut, and this will be simple for me to pick up.

I choose to learn it so that I can sew my own personal clothes because I never get satisfied with what my tailor always sews for me, and because of that, I stop sewing outside.

I am going through online training on YouTube, and right now I can sew a trouser.

  • The next thing I think of for next year is getting myself a new sewing machine—not a Manuel machine but an industrial machine.

My sewing machine has spoiled my work because getting a straight stitch is difficult because leather is heavy and cannot move freely.

Using an industrial sewing machine that gets a double footing, you will be able to sew any material, no matter how strong the leather is.

That is all about what I want to learn or accomplish in the upcoming year. Thanks to everyone for going through my entry.

And also, a special thanks to @crosheille , @kattycrochet , @lauramica , and other community leaders for coming up with this amazing contest.

God bless you all, amen.

Thank you for taking on the challenge! I look forward to seeing those steering wheel covers once you learn to make them 😉.

I think it’s excellent for one to know how to sew and tailor their own clothing. A skill I definitely still want to acquire one day. I wish you well for the 2024 year and that all of your goals are met ~

Do the images in your post belong to you? If not please don’t forget to source them. Thank you.

I'm glad you have clear resolutions Moses, I'm sure you'll be able to do it all. I like that stitched ruffle, I've never seen anything like that.

Happy holidays and have a great end of the year!

Great goals for the year to improve on your skills and being able to help people improve the feeling in their 'new to them' car is great. Always keen on personalising.

Great goal. My thing is how a pattern works in clothing and how to make one vs buying a ready made pattern
