Fireworks?

Last Saturday night didn't end the way I thought it would.

I suppose that it was a bit of a surprise... for sure it was. The surprises of life are always bringing new tastes as if Chef Life would add different condiments to its specialities - our destiny - every now and then. At least it's never boring to have a feast with these diverse flavours. I just can't decide if it was bitter or sour. Sweet? Don't make me laugh, it definitely wasn't.

But if I observe from a distance, I can see that not even a second of my evening had to be spent on negative thoughts. I did my part of the agreement. I played for the guest of a nice place, by the open pool. They loved it. What happened between the organizer and the hotel, and how they misunderstood the timetable for the presence of the pianist was not my thing anymore.

Though the thing of arriving there, with a huge traffic jam (as everyone wanted to go to that town and see the special fireworks) affected my time spent commuting. As I knew it would be like that I was kind of mentally prepared, still, it would bother everyone a little bit not being able to move on the road.

But leaving behind the traffic jam, the bad organization and the end of the night, it was a pleasure to play there. On a beautiful terrasse, between palm trees and pools, the grass where the guests had their luxurious dinner. Me and my piano. At first, I started without desire and was a bit stressed. Immersing myself in playing the piano made me forget about the organization issues and the bitter flavour became neutral.

A few smiles from the waiters that were passing with the dishes, a couple of applauses from the guests and a question, a comment and dancing to one song made that initial taste change into a sweeter one. I also knew that there would be fireworks at midnight, that would last for 20-25 minutes. I hoped to escape before it would start...

My playing part finished and the fireworks were about to start. Everyone was so excited... I just don't understand why is that. The dance of the lights in the dark sky, I know it is cool but somehow I don't fancy watching them after I work. I wanted to go home before the roads were full of cars and get stuck for another hour on the road.

IMG_20230813_000140.jpg

Chef Life... well, I didn't get stuck on the road but was already "captured" in the hotel 😂. The maintenance guy who was supposed to help me out of the complex started looking at the fireworks and told me to wait and do the same. To watch the fireworks from that privileged place and that we would get out when they finished - in 25 minutes.

Breathe.

I have stayed for some moments, and the few photos that are coming in this post and the short videos prove that. I indeed stayed for some time, but then I took my bitter-sour-sweet fate into my hands and found the way out from there by myself. My confession: I don't like the sound of the fireworks. It's like being in the middle of a war zone. Only if they could be just visual experience...

Why they could not sound like Handel, for example?

I know, there are many other songs where fireworks are mentioned but I brought here a famous classical piece.

I suggest watching the fireworks I saw, but without sound and listening at the same time to Handel's music :D

Do you like fireworks? For what occasions do you think they are fine? Maybe you know songs and music that are connected to fireworks? There are several examples out there 🎶

Hello dear friend @mipiano good day
When I was a child I loved fireworks, but when I began to have a pet, and seeing them suffer from the noise, I began to hate them. I don't think any party or date justifies shooting fireworks, since there are children with some conditions that do them no good. just like our pets
I'm sorry you had to wait for the maintenance person to see the whole contrivance show before he escorted you out.

Have a beautiful day

Yeah, that's the noise that is so disturbing. That's why I don't like it either.
In the end, I found the way out by myself hahaha while everyone was still watching the fireworks :D

Always thought I'm the weirdo cause always terrified by the loud bangs, though they are explosive bursts of light and color that evoke wonder and awe in the observer

I prefer watching as a video than being present in the show, haha 😀. Well captured video, Thanks for sharing

No, you are not a weirdo for not liking the loud bangs. Or, maybe we are indeed weird as we don't like it? 😆

As a kid I loved fireworks. Having a kid changed that and I'm so thankful he really didn't show much interest in them. I see some neighbors save up and buy way to many fireworks. I'm talking about spending $1000, that is is absolutely crazy. Another reason for not being a big fan is because of my dog.

Anyways enjoy the rest of your week :)

I'm talking about spending $1000

😳

I see that here in Spain people like all the pyrotechnic events... oh, and firecrackers, my son was scared of them as small.

Thank you, have a nice rest of the week you too 😇

I am not particularly a fan of fireworks, like you I like the visual spectacle but that's as far as it goes, also because the animals suffer a lot and can be affected by the roar and suffer heart attacks, it is not something natural.

Absolutely agree with you. We could have just the visual spectacle if it would be possible ;) Both animals and people can be affected by the loud noise.

Better than fireworks I prefer shows with lights, you can do super impressive things and they don't generate so much noise.

When I was a child I liked them but because of the lights and the colours, not because of the noise and also the animals are very scary so now I don't like them.

I just admire those colours at night and the show, pity that terrible noise that makes it so bad!

Thank you @mipiano 😀

Pumarte gave a nice comparison in his comment, with light shows. They are combined with music and can be so nice and exciting. No noise that scares us or animals.

Last winter when we did our trip through Andalucía and Portugal we watched a sort of light show in a park in Almería. It was combined with a story and music. That was very nice 😀

When the fair started, the Friday before, there were fireworks.

I was about 40 minutes away from the beach walking my cat... I had to leave in a hurry because he got so scared that he was clinging to my shoulder, even though he was far away.

But that combination with music, what a delight!

Oh, poor kitty. My parents' cat hides under the bed when there is thunderstorm or fireworks.

I walk Tony on a leash and it does him good. Catalina doesn't because she gets scared, she is inside but she still listens and gets scared.😍 I love them!

Here in Pakistan, weddings are done in the same way, especially on the day of Baraat, many firecrackers are set off and everything else is done in the same way.

I love fireworks, but it seems like I will have some panic attacks if I ever get to witness them face-to-face. 😅😅

Nahh, I'm good watching them kilometers away. o( ̄┰ ̄*)ゞ

Too bad you have a strange opinion of fireworks!
I, on the other hand, see them as complete: the explosion or bang they make is a preamble to the next show.
Agreed I am a strange subject because I like lightning and thunder, but fireworks are the romantic side of pyrotechnic powder!
However, fireworks I would watch them every night, with even the noise they make!

Oops, I missed your comment, @mikezillo, mi dispiace.

I like lightning and thunder,

hmm, that is already exciting, it gives a bit of fear but also a lot of enjoyment 😎

I did my homework and listened to the music while watching the fireworks video, a perfect combination.

I like them but I think they should be used in very special occasions, for example end of the year, in my country they are very expensive and it is inevitable to think about how many people would be fed with one of these shows, those thoughts do not let me enjoy them well, I guess the same thing happens to you with their sound.

@mipiano 🤗

I am glad you did the homework. Every teacher likes to hear that hehehe

😂😋

And yeah they can be pretty expensive, so that observation of yours is valid.
