What makes you hold onto hope? Enlighten us on something you do to create a safe, positive space around yourself, to boost the belief or conviction to always look for the cloud with a silver lining, even if it means starting again?

Hope. Hope is my Aunty's name. What is hope? A quality, value or whatever you may call it that has mostly been in the audience while the others, love, joy , kindness and the likes of it took the spotlight. Hope, I think can be anything to anybody. Hope brings comfort, it gives joy even in situations when there shouldn't be. Hope keps the mind sane and safe. Hope for love, hope for this, that...you name it and hope will come running to help

Hope keeps us going when we feel we should tap out of life and it's shenanigans. Hope gives strength enough, to pull out of depression, despair or to endure trying times. There have been so many quotes like the African proverb above that tries to tell us what hope is, and still to give us hope. A Greek poet theocrites even said, "when there is life, there is hope"
And Ecclesiastes 9:4 still said , "for a man who is counted among the living, there is still hope"
Hope for what exactly? Of better things, better days ahead.

What makes me hold onto hope?

Well, I think hope is the one thing we actually have. there's something about hope that makes it different and unique
it gives life meaning and it's gives me and you a reason to continue to continue fighting, to continue living because we have a hope of a better thing to come and we see this better outcome if we work on something and just hope it turns out well.
while we've talked about love a lot, hope needs half of the talk time love gets because it's so much of importance in our lives. hope sets you apart from the hopeless. it differentiates you from the person who doesn't have a reason. it keeps you in the good course and you keep going because you're hopeful!

What can you do to create a safe, positive space around yourself, to boost the belief or conviction to always look for the cloud with a silver lining, even if it means starting again?

I think, hope has a lot to do with positivity and I know it's not easy to just say, be positive and you suddenly become positive but there are still some other things you can do and they are:

  • Be grateful for the things you have. Focus on the things you have and show gratitude that you have them. It could be that you're living, that you're tall/short. The little things we overlook
  • Faith/belief. The things you believe in can affect your hope for the better things ahead. I think that faith really works alongside hope like i said earlier. So, try to put faith or believe things that actually give you real hope.
  • Journaling. Personally, I'm still working on this one but so far, it does help with building a positive mindset and all.
  • Find inspiration and motivation. You can do this in anyway and anything but try not to indulge in activities that'll only take away the little positivity you have. Personally, I watch motivational videos and listen to pep talks that make me feel reenergized and want to keep going
  • Music and exercise. Sometimes, all you need is a little exercise to clear your head and music to uplift your emotions and yes, lyrics are very important in this case. Songs like the climb by Miley Cyrus, shake it off by Taylor and so many of them alike.

In all you do , just find things that will work for you and works for you. Still try out other things but please bear in mind that not everything works for everybody. Do activities that give you positive vibes as some may say it. Things that give you joy and purpose. It could be connecting with nature.... who knows?

See me well to Aunty hope. Hope keeps us going if when we want to give up.

You have make wonderful points on how you keep when it looks terrible. Staying focus is what everyone should learn because it helps us be more hopeful. Thanks for sharing
