Today, I'm excited to share my entry for this week's contest, which focuses on the captivating theme of night photography. As I embark on nocturnal adventures in the enchanting world of Ghost of Tsushima, my goal is to capture the essence of the night through the lens of video game photography. The journey is more than just the visuals; it's a story told through the quests and encounters that take place under the cover of darkness.

One fateful night, as I wandered the hauntingly beautiful landscapes of Tsushima, a random dying stranger beckoned me for assistance. His request was simple yet heartbreaking: find his brother, who was caught up in the complex web of allegiance with the Mongols. I set out on a journey that was filled with uncertainty and shadows because of his story.

As I approached the designated location, a bleak scene unfolded before my eyes. The aftermath of an ambush lay bare, with traders killed and their carts destroyed. The Mongols' brutality was obvious, with no survivors in their wake. As I delved deeper into the investigation, an ambush caught me off guard—a Mongol archer's arrow just missed hitting its deadly target.

With years of practiced skills at my disposal, I confronted the Mongol attackers with determination. The archers, with their infuriating precision, fell first, paving the way for a melee between the swordsmen and spearmen. The tide of battle shifted, and their numbers dwindled under my relentless attack. Victory was mine, but it was bittersweet because I returned to the dying stranger, only to discover that his entire family had died in tragic circumstances.

The discovery that the brother was indeed working with the Mongols, albeit under duress for the sake of his family, added layers to my investigation. The dying stranger's final wish was for mercy for his brother, demonstrating the enduring bonds of family even in the darkest of times. As I pondered my decision, nature presented a new challenge: a fierce and untamed bear forced me into a desperate struggle for survival.

With my resources depleted, I lured the Mongol guards into a strategic battle, eventually facing the remaining archers in a final standoff. Inside the house, the brother lay bound and broken. His story of coercion and loss painted a complicated picture of survival in the midst of war. I chose mercy, honouring the dying stranger's wish while leaving the brother to mourn and reflect on the future.

My journey through the night did not end with the completion of the quest. Tsushima's undiscovered corners continued to call to me, leading me to a hidden shrine with a powerful charm. This emotional and conflict-filled adventure was immortalised through my lens, capturing both the beauty and tragedy of the night.
