#157th EDITION

Hi, ladies. It's Friday, and the topic chosen for this week's Ladies of Hive contest #157 catches my eyes. I decided to write about this question on my blog today.

1️⃣ What's the one thing people always misunderstand about you?

It seems so easy for people to misinterpret those who prefer their own company and be alone. I always have this mood that I wanted to be alone and disappear. Just me, myself and I. Some people frequently misinterpret me when I say that I prefer to be alone. For me, being able to go anywhere by myself, whether it's to eat at a restaurant, watch movies or go shopping, brings me great happiness and satisfaction. I am very grateful for my "me" time.

Embracing solitude by myself is a great choice that supports my self-awareness and my personal progress. It is not a sign of loneliness or isolation, as some might think. Alone time allows me to spend time by myself, reflecting on my thoughts and feelings. I can spend time with my inner self, and doing things that make me happy. These times of being alone are when I am able to maintain my mental health, recharge, and feed my spirit.

I can really focus on the here and now when I go out by myself. I can take my time exploring every corner of a shop in a shopping centre without anybody waiting for me or complaining about how long I take. I can freely just lose myself in the wonder of my choice of movie, in the cinema and enjoy the tastes of a meal from my favourite restaurant of my choices without interruptions. Being able to follow my own goals and passions without seeking acceptance or validation from others is freedom.

It is a common misconception that if we enjoy being alone, it can be related to a lack of social skills or a hatred of being around other people. On the other hand, I cherish and am grateful for the relationships I have with family and friends. But I also understand how important it is to set aside time for myself in order to take care of my own wellbeing and mental health.

I hope that everyone knows how important it is to acknowledge and take into account the needs of those who find comfort in being alone, especially nowadays, particularly in a culture that frequently places high expectations on social contacts. Rather than being a sign of social failure, I say that spending time by myself as a kind of self-care and self-discovery.

In my conclusion, people tend to misinterpret my need for being alone. Whether it's eating, shopping, or watching movies, going somewhere by myself gives me the chance to reconnect with myself, and I can do things that make me happy. It's important for all of you to recognise and appreciate the variety of methods people use to satisfy their souls and find fulfilment in their lives.

Accepting solitude is a celebration of one's own self-discovery, and for me, it's my precious time to spend on personal development rather than a rejection of social interaction. "I am alone, but I'm not lonely"; that's how I end this blog. Thank you for taking your time here.

Well, we can go out together.. I'm an introvert who always prefers to be alone even when invited by a group hehe.
I just love the peace and solitude...and I am more comfortable when I'm with myself..

Yes, we should hang out together and enjoy the silence. 😂

I'm not an introvert but when I need that alone time by myself, I just do it without consoling anybody.

Have you ever felt like you just want to be quiet and not speak with others? It's not because we are mad at them, but we just want that quiet moment with our thoughts.

Yeah, any people misunderstand those who enjoy their alone time other than in the company of friends. Haha

Maybe I'll jump on this contest.

I believe it resonates with many people. I once came across a phrase on the internet that said something like, "be wary of those who can eat alone in public." It suggests that those who are comfortable being alone are often quite independent.

This feels like something I'd write. I mean it resonates with my lifestyle a lot and some think I'm just prideful. Very lovely writing dear.

Have a lovely weekend dear💜

Oh, I'm so glad to hear that you could relate to it! 💜

It's always comforting to know that there are others out there who understand and live in a similar way.

I guess they just misjudged us. It's not about being proud;, it's about knowing your worth and enjoying your own company, right? 😉

They just don't understand how it feels. Maybe they get used to having a company, and being alone makes them scared or lonely.

Thank you for your kind words, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! 💝🙏

I love that end you gave to your post, one is alone doesn't mean one is lonely. There's the "me time" some people enjoy and are being misunderstood for.

Glad you do enjoy yours regardless of what people are thinking.
Thanks for participating sis.

Thank you, sis! 💖
It's true that being alone doesn't necessarily mean being lonely. For me, "me time" is so important for self-discovery,isn't it? I know it's a shame that it often gets misunderstood.

When I'm alone, it's like getting to know a friend—the more time you spend, the better you understand them. And who better to understand than ourselves, right? 😊

I appreciate your kind words and support, sis. Thanks for the time you spend on my post. How about you? Do you also enjoy some alone time?
