QC Community Weekly Contest: Goal Setting

Goal setting is significant in tracking one's progress. As the year is drawing to an end, we recollect on the things we have achieved in the course of the past months and set out goals we want to achieve in the new year. Goal setting differs and achievement of these goals are personal too.

At the beginning of this year, I set out goals I will have to achieve before the year ends. These goals are majorly on growth and development.

On personal development, I was so concerned about my writing skills and ways to improve. I will say that I have seen great improvement from what my writing was last year and what it is now. I bought online courses on tips to improve and write like a professional.

Next is my career advancement. My ability to seek guidance from senior colleagues have help me make a difference. Last year was a huge setback in my financial life. This is actually the major area of my life I'm trying my best to build. I remember telling a male friend of mine how I want to relocate to another state to begin a new life and focus on starting a business there. He was so surprised asking me why I would have to hustle for money. Am I a man that I'm so concerned about money? I laughed and equally gave him the perfect response.

To build my financial stability, I have grown to realize that creating a budget and making proper fund allocation for different expenses, savings, etc would help reduce unnecessary expenses. However,this doesn't stop me from spending money on myself. When I see something I don't need but want and I know for so long I have not tasted that particular thing due to cutting my expenses, I wouldn't have any problem with withdrawing money to purchase that item and enjoy but that's a once in a while action.

In as much as I know that achieving my financial goal would not be accomplished without increasing my income. I try my best to engage myself in every available legit opportunity I see both online and offline. Knowing that while the offline job would serve all my physical needs because both planned and unplanned expenses would always arise, the others I make would go into my savings which is also for other future bigger plans.

Truly, to achieve whatever goal one has set for him or herself, it takes being consistent in whatever approach he or she is taking to see that the goal is achieved.
