Hello community! I welcome you to this post. This time I want to share with you my participation for the Neon Art Contest of @midnight-studio. For those of you who don't know it, it's a new NFT-Game project called Neon Strike, which will have a very Cyberpunk style theme. Next I'll tell you a bit about this contest and my process to make this character, I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!
¡Hola comunidad! Les doy la bienvenida a este post. En esta oportunidad quiero compartir con ustedes mi participación para el Neon Art Contest de @midnight-studio. Para los que no lo conocen se trata de un nuevo proyecto NFT-Game llamado Neon Strike, el cual tendrá una temática muy estilo Cyberpunk. This contest consists in making our own version of one of the characters of the game, in this case Annie. You can know all the details in this post so you can also participate. For this illustration I started by making a sketch of the character, for this I took into account some references that helped me to define the pose and some elements that this character would have. Little by little I was shaping and cleaning the lines until I completed my sketch.
Este concurso consiste en realizar nuestra propia version de uno de los personaje del juego, en este caso Annie. Puedes conocer todos los detalles en este post para que también participes. Para esta ilustración comencé realizando un boceto del personaje, para ello tome en cuenta algunas referencias que me sirvieron para definir la pose y algunos elementos que tendría este personaje. Poco a poco fui dándole forma y limpiando las líneas hasta completar mi boceto.
Once I finished with the sketch I proceeded to work on a lineart, at this point I further defined the lines and played a bit with the thicknesses to achieve a more traditional finish. I then applied a base coat of grey as a guide for my base colours.
Una vez termine con el boceto procedí a trabajar en un lineart, en este punto definí aun mas las líneas y jugué un poco con los grosores para lograr un acabado mas tradicional. Después aplique una capa base de color gris como guía para mis colores base.
Then I started to apply the base colours that the character would have. At this point I had to make some adjustments because the colour palette of the reference didn't fit very well with what I wanted to do. With the base colours applied I applied the general shadows that the character would have.
Después comencé a aplicar los colores base que tendría el personaje. En este punto tuve que hacer varios ajustes ya que la paleta de color de la referencia de cierto modo no quedaba muy bien con lo que quería realizar. Con los colores base aplicados fui aplicando las sombras generales que tendria el personaje.
Then I applied some light with a soft brush and gave a little more detail to the shadows to integrate them a little better with the character. Then I applied some white colour in specific areas and placed an image as a background which I manipulated until I achieved the desired effect.
Luego aplique un poco de luz con un pincel suave y di un poco mas de detalle a las sombras para integrarlas un poco mejor con el personaje. Después aplique un poco de color blanco en zonas específicas y coloque una imagen como fondo la cual manipule hasta lograr el efecto deseado.

To finish I changed the colour of the character's lineart for a more blue tone, I also made some reflected lights with a flashy colour and as a final detail I made some corrections in the tones of the background to integrate it better with my character. Para finalizar cambie de color el lineart del personaje por un tono mas azul, también realice algunas luces reflejadas con un color llamativo y como detalle final hice algunas correcciones en los tonos del fondo para integrarlo mejor con mi personaje. ¡Muchas gracias por ver hasta el final y hasta la próxima!
