En la vida siempre las personas tienen un sueño, por pequeño o grande que sea este va rondando por nuestra cabeza todos los días. Muchos intentan seguir ese camino, pero al no ver resultados deciden optar por una opción más viable o la vida común del ser humano, viviendo infelices todo el resto de su vida por no cumplir dicho sueño. Realmente esto puede sonar como lo normal para muchas personas, también tenemos a aquellos que por difícil que parezca, deciden luchar y atravesar todas las pruebas posibles hasta cumplir su objetivo como sea. Tal es el caso de Eric Peña, un chico de 19 años de edad que desde pequeño soñaba con convertirse en un reconocido cantante de Rock.
In life, people always have a dream, no matter how big or small it may be, it goes round our heads every day. Many try to follow that path, but when they do not see results they decide to opt for a more viable option or the common life of the human being, living unhappy for the rest of their lives for not fulfilling that dream. This may sound normal for many people, but there are also those who, however difficult it may seem, decide to fight and go through all possible trials until they reach their goal. Such is the case of Eric Peña, a 19 year old boy who since he was a child dreamed of becoming a renowned rock singer.

Eric creció escuchando a sus artistas favoritos, sentía gran admiración por ellos y soñaba con algún día llegar a donde estaban ellos. Aunque no sabía si tenía lo necesario para ello, nunca pensó en rendirse, todos los días al llegar de clases solía practicar en su cuarto clases de canto por medio de videos y tutoriales en la web. Por medio de esto, Eric conoció lo conceptos más básicos para aprender algo de música, pero sabía que esto no sería suficiente para lograr su formación y llego a la conclusión de que tenía que buscar ayuda profesional. Muchas veces les pidió a sus padres que lo inscribieran en una escuela de música, pero estos nunca aceptaron porque no les gustaba la idea de que su hijo se dedicara a tal oficio.
Eric grew up listening to his favourite artists, he felt great admiration for them and dreamed of one day reaching where they were. Although he didn't know if he had what it took, he never thought about giving up. Every day when he came home from school he used to practice singing lessons in his room through videos and tutorials on the web. Through this, Eric learned the basics to learn some music, but he knew that this would not be enough to achieve his training and came to the conclusion that he had to seek professional help. Many times he asked his parents to enrol him in a music school, but they never accepted because they didn't like the idea of their son going into music.

Esto sin duda desanimaba mucho a Eric, no contaba con sus padres para cumplir su sueño. Aunque en un principio era muy difícil para él, tuvo que aceptarlo y seguir por su cuenta. Más tarde Eric al entrar en la preparatoria conoció a muchas personas de su grupo de estudio, al poco tiempo se hizo muy amigo de 3 jóvenes con los que compartía muchos intereses, entre ellos se encontraba la música. A la edad de 16 años juntos se les ocurrió la idea de formar una banda, en un principio esto sonaba como algo estúpido, pero por suerte no lo era. Resulta que uno de los amigos de Eric sabía tocar la guitarra acústica y aprendió por medio de su padre que tocaba y cantaba en grupos de iglesia en su ciudad. Eric al ver la oportunidad no lo pensó mucho y eligieron al padre de su amigo como tutor para aprender lo que necesitaban.
This certainly discouraged Eric, as he did not count on his parents to fulfil his dream. Although at first it was very difficult for him, he had to accept it and continue on his own. Later, when Eric entered high school, he met many people from his study group and soon became close friends with three young men with whom he shared many interests, including music. At the age of 16 together they came up with the idea of forming a band, at first this sounded stupid, but luckily it was not. It turns out that one of Eric's friends knew how to play acoustic guitar and learned through his father who played and sang in church groups in his town. Eric saw the opportunity and didn't think much of it and they chose his friend's father as a tutor to help them learn what they needed to learn.

Alrededor de un año, Eric y sus amigos aprendieron muchísimo de música. For about a year, Eric and his friends learned a lot about music. His friend's father helped them all learn the basics of music, music theory, tonal and rhythmic patterns, as well as teaching them all to play acoustic guitar and piano as a foundation. All of this gave them what they needed to start working in the band, but it wasn't all that simple. None of them had the necessary equipment to start playing, so they had to look for a part-time job to buy the equipment they needed. When they did, they quit their jobs and within a couple of days they were more familiar with their instruments.

La banda tomo el nombre The Radio Star y sus principales referencias fueron bandas de metal-core, hardcore y nu metal. Comenzaron tocando en plazas, parques, bares y eventos locales gratuitos en los que poco a poco se dieron a conocer. Aunque su grupo de seguidores no es el más grande de todos, Eric sabe que manteniendo su constancia en lo que más le gusta va a lograr algún día cumplir lo que tanto anhela juntos con sus compañeros.
The band took the name The Radio Star and their main references were metal-core, hardcore and nu metal bands. They started playing in squares, parks, bars and free local events where they gradually became known. Although their fan base is not the biggest of them all, Eric knows that by sticking to what he loves the most, he will one day achieve what he and his bandmates long for together.
