Ancestral beauty || Belleza ancestral 🎨 Street Art #4 in Venezuela

Warm greetings, urban art lovers. I'm here again to share my find of this week and what better way to do it than in this wonderful StreetArt Community.

Particular dynamisms moved me to the city of Maracay and after the achievement of what was planned, I had some time to walk around the area of greatest commercial activity, although I observed it somewhat diminished, perhaps because the afternoon was advancing, warning that in a few hours, the day would end. Already ready to return, I visualized with emotion a large tapestry, beautiful, vibrant and generous in its symbolism, an urban mural, which represents the cultural roots and ancestral social dynamics of Venezuelan culture. This is what I share with you on this occasion.

Saludos cordiales, amantes del arte urbano. De nuevo por acá para compartir con ustedes mi hallazgo de esta semana y qué mejor forma de hacerlo que en esta maravillosa Comunidad StreetArt.

Dinamismos particulares, me trasladaron a la ciudad de Maracay y tras la consecución de lo planificado, dispuse de un espacio para caminar por la zona de mayor actividad comercial, aunque la observé un tanto menguada, quizás porque la tarde avanzaba, advirtiendo que, en pocas horas, el día terminaría. Ya lista para el regreso, visualicé con emoción un gran tapiz, fastuoso, vibrante y obsequioso en su simbolismo. Un mural urbano, que representa arraigo y solariego cultural, inmerso en su estampa una dinámica social ancestral de la cultura venezolana. Es lo que les comparto en esta ocasión.

From my point of view, each society in its representativeness, with possession and stealth, sketches and weaves, its survival and cultural fixity, creating for itself a tangled and nourished network of significant codes, expressions that give seat and permanence in the memory generation after generation.

It is the representations in their different singularities, which transpire identity and at the same time strengthen the memory, in their human groups. It is that culture full of wisdom, cosmogonies and ancestry, which reverberates and swarms the atavistic roots, enunciating with vivacity and energy the private vision that has a certain social imaginary about the world.

Desde mi mirada, cada sociedad en su representatividad, con posesión y sigilo esboza e hilvana, su supervivencia y fijeza cultural, creando para sí misma una enmarañada y nutrida red de códigos significantes, expresiones que dan asiento y permanencia en el recuerdo, generación tras generación.

Son las representaciones en sus diferentes singularidades, las que traspiran identidad y, a la vez, fortalecen la memoria, en sus grupos humanos. Es esa cultura llena de sapiencias, cosmogonías y ancestralidad, la que reverbera y pulula las raíces atávicas, enunciando con vivacidad y energía la visión privativa que tiene determinado, imaginario social sobre el mundo.

Venezuela, my country, is hybridism and hodgepodge, we transpire and segregate multiculturalism, rooted to the environment and the exuberance of the productive land, the charm of the nature that gives life, succulent of tradition and customs, of wealth and history.

Thus, in the chaos of the city, saturated with the diversity and energy of everyday life, this social engraving with the history of our colonial period emerges with primogeniture, to represent one of our cultural treasures, a constant source of economy and recognition, as is the cultivation of cocoa.

Venezuela, mi País, es hibridismo y mezcolanza; traspiramos y segregamos multiculturalidad, arraigados al entorno y a la exuberancia de la tierra productiva, al encanto de la naturaleza que da vida, suculenta de tradición y costumbres, de riqueza e historia.

Así en el caos citadino, saturado de la diversidad y de la energía de la cotidianeidad, emerge este grabado social de la historia de nuestro período colonial con mayorazgo, para representar con ello uno de nuestros tesoros culturales, fuente constante de economía y reconocimiento, como es el cultivo del cacao.

The imposing woman in the mural is meditating and abstracted in her thoughts, behind her rests a cocoa tree (cocoa fruit tree) and on the other the distinguished cobs of this elixir of the gods. It is a mural that transmits emotionality, wisdom and spirituality. Perhaps she is recovering her strength, dissipating in her rest the exhaustion of an extended work, a characteristic representative of a harvest of this fruit.

This urban canvas, commemorates our first settlers, if you visualize in detail you will see immersed in their hair, clothing and in some cocoa cobs indigenous insignias, emblems of fishing and the fruit described. Fishing and agriculture were the main activities developed in those times, as a support to the family economy.

La imponente mujer del mural está meditabunda y abstraída en sus pensamientos, detrás de ella reposa un cacaotero (árbol del fruto del cacao) y al otro las distinguidas mazorcas de este elixir de los dioses. Es un mural que transmite emocionalidad, sabiduría y espiritualidad. Quizás ella se encuentra recuperando fuerzas, disipando en su descanso el agotamiento de una extendida faena, característica representativa de una cosecha de este fruto.

Este lienzo urbano conmemora a nuestros primeros pobladores. Si visualizas con detalle, vas a ver inmersos en sus cabellos, indumentaria y en algunas mazorcas de cacao, insignias indígenas, emblemas de pesca y del fruto descrito. La pesca y la agricultura eran las principales actividades desarrolladas por esos tiempos, como soporte a la economía familiar.

As a tropical country, our geography is extensive and rich in gallery forests, the cocoa tree in its diversity of species has amicably found its seat and permanence, pampered and contemplated by the hands that with eagerness and dedication cultivate it, being identity and legacy our products of international recognition, kind in its variants and nuances, thanks to its unique versatility.

Just to exemplify one of our pennants: the chocolate obtained from this fruit, with the right processing is impressive and vibrant in its varieties and modalities, pleasing to the most refined palates. Its gradations of flavors and aromas are sublime and its combinations infinite, if we talk about singularity they can go from the iron intensity that imposes the bitterness to the subtle delicacy of sweetness and if you want to perceive pluralities there are fruity and floral variants. Undoubtedly, cocoa is one of our cultural distinctiveness.

Como país tropical, nuestra geografía en extensa y rica en bosques de galería, donde el cacaotero en su diversidad de especies ha encontrado amigablemente su asiento y permanencia, mimado y contemplado por las manos que con afán y dedicación lo cultivan, siendo identidad y legado nuestros productos de reconocimiento internacional, bondadosos en sus variantes y matices, gracias a su particular versatilidad.

Solo por ejemplificar uno de nuestros banderines: el chocolate obtenido de este fruto, con el acertado procesamiento, es imponente y vibrante en sus variedades y modalidades, complaciente a los más primorosos paladares. Sus gradaciones de sabores y aromas son excelsas y sus combinaciones infinitas, si hablamos de propiedades, pueden ir desde la intensidad férrea que impone el amargor hasta la sutil delicadeza del dulzor y si se desea percibir pluralidades, existen variantes afrutadas y florales. Sin lugar a dudas, el cacao, es uno de nuestros distintivos culturales.
