If I had to choose an all-time favorite anime it would be InuYasha, but I already talked about this one a long time ago in another post to which I dedicated all my love. However, there are other animes that are just as meaningful to me and that I also consider my favorites. To continue talking about those that I saw when I was just a child with Cartoon Network, I'm going to talk about my favorite ninja, Naruto. One of the first animes I ever watched and that has a special place in my heart ever since.
Before reading I gotta warn you, there will be spoilers.
Synopsis
I think that at this point the vast majority of people already know the plot of this anime, but I will also briefly tell you what it is about.
Naruto is a shōnen animated in 2002 that tells the story of a teenage ninja named Naruto Uzumaki who has dreams of greatness: he wants to be the leader of the village of Konoha, that is, his goal in life is to become the best ninja of all to be named Hokage. However, Naruto is a social renegade. The people of the village reject him because of his rebellious attitude but mainly because he is a kind of cursed child, since he has the demon of the Nine-Tailed Fox, Kurama, locked inside him. This demon terrorized the village many years ago and the solution was to seal it inside a child to be its vessel, thus keeping it under control.
Even so, Naruto has clear goals so he does not give up on anything, and in his training as a ninja he makes friends, especially his teammates Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno, along with sensei Kakashi Hatake. The four of them form Team 7 and it is there where we will see Naruto's ninja path to becoming someone great.
Simple action
Naruto is pure action with touches of humor that make it the perfect anime for children and teenagers. At first the plot is quite simple, a socially excluded boy who wants to demonstrate his true worth, wants to make the difference between what he was forced to live and between what he truly is. There is no shortage of ninja fights, no shortage of epic battle scenes and no shortage of absurd humor either. It is the typical entertaining shōnen but without much depth.
Also an aspect that is notable is that all of the protagonist's actions are based on his nobility. Naruto, despite being strong, is quite empathetic and moralistic, so everything he does is based on his sense of justice, believing in second chances and the nobility hidden in every person, even the bad ones. Furthermore, true friendships are his priority, so we will see everything he is capable of risking in order to rescue everyone but especially his friends, even more so Sasuke.
One of the things I like most about Naruto is the entire ninja world that Masashi Kishimoto created. There is a wealth of detail regarding the governance of the country, how the villages are constituted, the way in which society develops, the political dynamics of the ninjas and all aspects of their academic training because yes, ninjas go to school😅. From there it derives a whole mythology of its own about the chakras and other beings that converge in history. Although simple to understand, this world is quite interesting as well as entertaining. As the story progresses they slowly reveal each aspect of the village's dynamics, which makes you little by little understand the reason why of everything.
I insist, it is not the most elaborate and profound story in the world, not at all. But it fulfills the objective of being an entertaining action, apart from transmitting that message of personal improvement, which we evidently see in the development of Naruto from beginning to end. Also the importance of good actions, how being noble with good intentions leads you to good things, as well as the love and appreciation of others. Also, as cliché as it may sound, the power of true friendship, that special connection you make with those people you decide to be part of your life, your emotional support system, your family. Learning to accept that we all make mistakes, but that does not necessarily make us bad people. It simply makes us human, because we have all made mistakes, more than once.
Cliché, yes, very much. But it is a good message that, considering that it is aimed at young audiences, I think it is a great idea. Apart for the time it was released, this kind of protagonist was the one that sought to be developed the most because he connected more easily with those children who were looking for the figure of the good hero.
So one of the biggest criticisms is the lack of depth in the plot, which is completely true, but I think the author was not looking for depth but simply conveying a beautiful message doing what he is most passionate about, creating manga. I also believe that if you really want to connect with very young generations, creating a complex story can be entertaining, it can be a success, but perhaps the way of sending the message is so convoluted that in the end it is not understood. Sometimes less is more, and Masashi with Naruto conveyed a message that in itself is simple with little. Why complicate yourself unnecessarily if you were looking for something simple? There was no reason.
Of course today I would look for more complex stories and the simple stuff would bore me enormously, but at ten years old or younger the simple stuff was better because it was what I truly was capable to understand. I was a little girl, I wasn't going to pretend to understand existential dilemmas or a multitude of subplots with hidden details. Naruto is a story that is made according to the audience it is aimed at.
One aspect that I suppose wanted to add a little depth into the story and that I actually really like is the inspiration in Asian mythology, since the character of Kurama is based on a real legend, as well as there are many other references to said mythology.
Another part of the plot that I liked was the issue with the enmity that was transmitted from generation to generation for the simple search for power, a vanity that leaves nothing good and only affects very negatively the people involved. This aspect is developed more extensively with the Uchiha, a part of the story that for me is a thousand times better than the main one. I would have really liked the protagonists to be the Uchiha and their story instead of Naruto. It is a slightly more complex and tragic story that is quite interesting.
And well I must say that my favorite character is Itachi Uchiha, so yeah, I liked that story way more haha.
On the other hand, there are characters that are quite unnecessary, such as Sakura. The plot continues perfectly without her so it seems to me to be the main filler for Naruto, although obviously there is much more filler than that😂.
However, I think you come to sympathize with all the characters so all the subplots become interesting. In general, everyone has a good development (except for Sakura's hindrance hahaha)
The final plot seemed a bit far-fetched to me, but it cannot be denied that it is entertaining. The thing is that the entire anime is made simply to be entertained by all the action, and frankly from a ninja story I don't expect anything less.
Whether you like it or not, Naruto marked an entire generation as well as the style of that type of anime for a good season. It was an iconic story that marked many childhoods with endearing characters who will always be remembered, starting with its euphoric protagonist.
It will always be one of my favorite animes because of the nostalgia it transmits to me, it brings back many pretty memories of my childhood. That's why I chose it for this initiative.
If for some reason you haven't seen it yet, I recommend it if you want to see something simple and entertaining.

Si tuviera que escoger un anime favorito de toda la vida sería InuYasha, pero de éste ya hablé hace mucho tiempo en otro post al cual le dediqué todo mi cariño. Sin embargo, hay otros animes que son igual de significativos para mí y que también considero mis favoritos. Por continuar hablando de aquellos que ví siendo apenas una niña con Cartoon Network, voy a hablar de mi ninja favorito, Naruto. Uno de los primeros animes que vi y que desde ese entonces tiene un lugar especial en mi corazón.
Antes de leer, advierto que hay spoilers.
Sinopsis
Creo que a este punto ya la gran mayoría de personas conocen la trama de este anime, pero de igual forma les comento brevemente de qué trata.
Naruto es un shōnen animado en el año 2002 que trata de la historia de un ninja adolescente llamado Naruto Uzumaki que tiene sueños de grandeza: desea ser el líder de la aldea de Konoha, es decir, su meta en la vida es convertirse en el mejor ninja de todos para ser nombrado Hokage. Sin embargo, Naruto es un renegado social. La gente de la aldea lo rechaza por su actitud rebelde pero principalmente porque es una especie de niño maldito, puesto que tiene encerrado en su interior al demonio del Zorro de las Nueve Colas, Kurama. Este demonio aterrorizó la aldea hace muchos años y la solución fue sellarlo dentro de un niño para que fuera su recipiente, manteniéndolo así controlado.
Aún así, Naruto tiene sus metas claras por lo que no desiste ante nada, y en su formación como ninja llega a hacer amigos, en especial sus compañeros de equipo Sasuke Uchiha y Sakura Haruno, junto al sensei Kakashi Hatake. Los cuatro forman el Equipo 7 y es allí donde veremos el camino del ninja Naruto para convertirse en alguien grande.
Acción simple
Naruto es pura acción con toques de humor que lo hacen el anime perfecto para niños y adolescentes. En un principio la trama es bastante simple, un chiquillo excluido social que quiere demostrar su verdadero valor, quiere marcar la diferencia entre lo que se vio obligado a vivir y entre lo que verdaderamente es. No faltan las peleas ninjas, no faltan las escenas de batallas épicas y no falta tampoco el humor absurdo. Es el típico shōnen entretenido pero sin mayor profundidad.
También un aspecto que es resaltable es que todas las acciones del protagonista se basan es su nobleza. Naruto a pesar de ser fuerte es bastante empático y moralista, por lo que todo lo que hace está basado en su sentido de justicia, de creer en las segundas oportunidades y en la nobleza escondida en cada persona, incluso los malos. Además las amistades verdaderas son su prioridad, por lo que veremos todo lo que es capaz de arriesgar con tal de rescatar a todo el mundo pero en especial a sus amigos, más aún a Sasuke.
Una de las cosas que más me gusta de Naruto es todo el mundo ninja que creó Masashi Kishimoto. Hay lujo de detalles en cuanto la gobernanza del país, cómo se constituyen las aldeas, la manera en que se desenvuelve la sociedad, la dinámica política de los ninjas y todos los aspectos de su formación académica porque sí, los ninjas van a la escuela😅. De allí deriva en toda una mitología propia sobre los chakras y otros seres que convergen en la historia. Aunque sencillo de comprender, este mundo es bastante interesante así como entretenido. En la medida que avanza la historia revelan lentamente cada aspecto de la dinámica de la aldea, lo que hace que poco a poco vayas comprendiendo el porqué de las cosas.
Insisto, no es la historia más elaborada y profunda del mundo, para nada. Pero cumple con el objetivo de ser acción entretenida, aparte de transmitir ese mensaje de superación personal, que vemos evidentemente en el desarrollo de Naruto de principio a fin. También el de la importancia de las buenas acciones, el cómo ser noble con buenas intenciones te lleva a cosas buenas, así como el cariño y el aprecio de los demás. Además, por muy cliché que pueda sonar, el poder de la amistad verdadera, esa conexión especial que haces con aquellas personas que decides que sean parte de tu vida, tu sistema de apoyo emocional, tu familia. Aprendiendo a aceptar que todos cometemos errores, pero que eso no necesariamente nos hace malas personas. Simplemente nos hace humanos, porque todos hemos cometido errores, más de una vez.
Cliché, sí, muchísimo. Pero es un mensaje bueno que considerando que está dirigido a audiencias jóvenes, me parece una gran idea. Aparte para la época, el protagonista bondadoso era el que más se buscaba desarrollar porque conectaba más fácilmente con esos niños que buscaban la figura del buen héroe.
Entonces una de las mayores críticas es la falta de profundidad en la trama, cosa que es completamente cierta, pero creo que el autor no buscaba profundidad sino simplemente transmitir un mensaje bonito haciendo lo que más le apasiona, crear mangas. Además creo que si verdaderamente se quiere conectar con generaciones muy jóvenes, crear una historia compleja puede ser entretenida, puede ser un éxito, pero quizá la forma de enviar el mensaje sea tan enredada que al final no se entienda. A veces menos es más, y Masashi con Naruto transmitió con poco un mensaje que en sí mismo es sencillo. ¿Para qué complicarse innecesariamente si se buscaba algo simple? No había motivo alguno.
Claro que hoy en día yo buscaría historias más complejas y lo simple me aburriría enormemente, pero con diez años o menos lo simple era mejor porque era lo que verdaderamente comprendía. Era una niña, no iba a pretender comprender dilemas existenciales o pluridad de subtramas con detalles ocultos. Naruto es una historia que está hecha acorde al público al que está dirigido.
Un aspecto que supongo quería aportar un poco de profundidad a la historia y que me gusta es la inspiración en la mitología asiática, puesto que el personaje de Kurama está basado en una leyenda real, así como hay muchas otras referencias a dicha mitología.
Otra parte de la trama que me gustó fue la cuestión con la enemistad que se fue transmitiendo de generación en generación por la simple búsqueda de poder, una vanidad que no deja nada bueno y que solamente afecta negativamente. Este aspecto lo desarrollan más ampliamente con los Uchiha, parte de la historia que para mí es mil veces mejor que la principal. Me habría gustado muchísimo que los protagonistas fueran los Uchiha y su historia, no Naruto. Es una historia un poco más compleja y trágica bastante interesante.
Y tengo que decir que mi personaje favorito es Itachi Uchiha así que sí, me gusta muchísimo más esa historia jaja.
Por otro lado, hay personajes que sobran bastante, como por ejemplo Sakura. La trama continúa perfectamente sin ella por lo que me parece el principal relleno de Naruto, aunque obviamente hay mucho más relleno que ese😂.
Sin embargo, creo que se llega a simpatizar con todos los personajes por lo que todas las subtramas se hacen interesantes. En general, todos tienen un buen desarrollo (excepto por el estorbo de Sakura jajaja)
La trama final se me hizo un tanto rebuscada, pero no se puede negar que es entretenida. Es que el anime entero está hecho simplemente para ser entretenido por toda la acción, y francamente de una historia de ninjas yo no espero menos.
Aparte te guste o no, Naruto marcó una generación entera así como el estilo de ese tipo de animes por una buena temporada. Fue una historia icónica que marcó muchísimas infancias con personajes entrañables que siempre serán recordados, empezando por su eufórico protagonista.
Siempre será uno de mis animes favoritos por la nostalgia que me transmite, me trae muchísimos recuerdos de mi niñez. Por eso lo escogí para esta iniciativa.
Si por alguna razón no lo has visto aún, te lo recomiendo si quieres ver algo sencillo y entretenido.

Cartoon Network giving us the best of our childhood, I miss when they transmitted so many anime at different times (I also knew Inuyasha through that channel haha).
I've never watched Naruto, but if it gets a lot of love, it does. It's still broadcasted on TV so beyond being a cliche (I died laughing with your comment haha) and not having a developed or deep plot, it persists in time and in people's hearts, something that very few anime have achieved ❤️
Cartoon Network was the very best. I loved everything they had back in the days, it was great. I found many iconic animes and series there.
And Naruto I mean, it is very cliché but it's still a wonderful cliché hahaha. You sympathize with every character and Naruto is very noble and funny, he wins your heart.
Overall it's a really good anime.

Of course Naruto couldn't be missing from someone's favorite anime. I would say that this story marked a lot of people in the times when it was being broadcasted (me included), the first time I read a manga was precisely because of Naruto, but I must confess that I didn't like the finale.
