"Project Ramadan 2.0" | An Initiative To Provide Food Support To Poor Families In This Ramadan (2023) [Fundraising Phase Ended]
Hello everyone, I hope you're all having a very good day and having a very good time now. If I have your attention I am about to make a fundraising post which bears the initiative to provide the needy and helpless people of our country, Bangladesh, wth some of the necessary rations in the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. This is basically my second initiative to provide food support to few poor families . You can visit my last year's PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT and it's FINAL UPDATE
Now I don't know what's going on in the other countries, but when it comes to this one, every year, during ramadan, we see a radical increase in the prices of all these commodities which we use on a regular basis. There are many reasons behind it and I can go on and on and talk about it all day. But the most glaring fact is the inflation this country has suffered over the past year. If you look it up a little, you'll know where we're headed. This year the prices are already way up (20%-30%) and a significant amount of people in our country are already having problems in living from one day to another. If we add that up with the usual increase which we see in Ramadan, it's going to be very hard for the people who don't earn a lot to even get something decent to eat per day. Out of conscience, this year, I have taken the initiative to support at least 20 different families with some of the necessary rations they would require by the end of this month. I know it is definitely a small number, but it's just my little effort to do something for the needy people around me.

That's my rough planning & approximate cost is 1470 BDT (12.78$) per family. I would request all of you to contribute in this initiative. Your small support would mean a lot to the helpless & poor families. After collecting funds from here, I will try to cover the rest part from my own fund and other sources of mine as much as possible to execute this initiative successfully. This is a very nice project. Touching lives positively through food stuffs gifting is very good, in a country where inflation is affecting people . I really wish your plan of providing for 20 families will be accomplished before the RAMADAN.

This is my 3rd year actually, to continue this personal initiative. Even though my friends & cousins are very much supportive to execute whole plan successfully. I will continue this in every Ramadan, Insha-Allah
Can you suggest/point out in that case? I intentionally avoid perishable foods as it's hard to distribute plus it has risks included

This is a charitable effort honestly, inflation and unemployment have elevated the suffering even for the middle class. I have been thinking if you can add a pouch of vermicelli, and some squash juice-type stuff. Here these are added to the Ramadan package.
I had included vermicelli one year, but if you add vermicelli, you need to add milk/milk powder as well. So, if I can manage more than enough funds to cover costs of 20 families, then adding milk & vermicelli can be a good option. It will depend on how much I can raise and how much I can personally afford.
